| Quote: | | @jaguars: Jaguars General Manager David Caldwell dismissed Mike Mularkey as head coach of the Jaguars today. #Jaguars |
As expected David Caldwell fires Mike after he lost the locker room and failed to fix our offense. With the same talent on the team, and improving offensive weapons, Mike lost 3 more games, and lost player support by the bye week.

Caldwell: "I feel it is in everyone’s best interests for an immediate and clean restart.” #jaguars |
| Quote: | | @PriscoCBS: I was told that Caldwell will get a guy he can work hand and hand with like Smith and Dimitroff do in Atlanta |

lol saw this one coming the minute you brought in Caldwell. That being said, I'd bring Mularkey back to Atlanta... as a position coach. _________________

Outside of Mike Smith, I think everyone else who didn't like him is gone. _________________

Good QB developer, but preaches not turning the ball over and safe throws...which is why Blaine and then Henne checked down as much as they did. In Atlanta those around weren't impressed with the conservative play calling. _________________

My guess is first call goes to Josh McDaniels who drafted Tebow. _________________

| I wouldn't mind him in Oakland as OC. Mularkey had a nice 3 year stint as OC with the Seelers, getting him the Head Coaching job in Buffalo in the early 2000's.... And then he had a great run with the Falcons landing him the Jags Head Coaching job, he's been a pretty solid OC. |

| Not liking all these HC openings. Smart move by the Jags to dump him. Brat isn't a good OC either, so this probably means he's gone as well... |

People mad that he is conservative.. even though he is often a top 10 offense? Sounds like a bunch of malarkey to me. _________________

That was predictable. He'll get a job as a positional coach or maybe even an offensive coordinator. He's a pretty decent QB developer even if his play-calling sucks. _________________ With much cheese,

He was doomed in Jacksonville. When your QBs are Gabbert and Henne, you are not going to field a good offensive football team.
It's fun listening to Jag fans throw him under the bus. No HC in football could win with Gabbert as their QB. Those are just facts.
Malarkey will get another OC job. He's good in that role. Might play conservative somewhat, but he's never had a real great QB to open an offense up with. _________________

You mean like what Dirk Koetter is doing with Matt Ryan right now? _________________

I was going to say, Matt Ryan is darn near "elite". Someone mentioned Mularkey to the Raiders, and I really like that fit. He wouldn't be a world-beater, but he'd bring a consistency to their game and should get McFadden back on track. I like him for the Jets too. _________________
