Doctors need more power on NFL sidelines

The coaches and players are not going to be thinking long term when a playoff game is on the line. But anyone who isn't so clearly invested in one game would know that putting a player back in a game when they risk permanent injury and their career is not a risk worth taking. Coaches and players are not going to make the right decision in crunch time, especially when they're under enormous pressure to do the opposite. An outside party that would not hesitate to make the correct decision is needed. I don't care who it is, but you can't trust the players or coaches to make these type of calls.
