Bucs fans - I am hearing on a lot of other Cowboys sites that this could be a precursor to Gruden.
Can you weigh in? What is their relationship? Kiffin quit on him.. right?
I really, really hope we stay with Garrett. _________________

Jerry Jones turning into the new Al Davis. Total Al move right here picking up an old former great coach. |

Not even Monte wants to be associated with Lane anymore...
Yeah yeah I know that Monte was supposedly "let go" as DC at USC.. I was searching for a little bit of humor somewhere. I do wonder why Monte was so unsuccessful at the college ranks though. _________________

Kiffin quit on a 9-3 team and we tailspinned from the #2 seed in the NFC at the time to out of the playoffs. Before that most people reported their relationship as not being very good.
I would be shocked if that happened. |

Better get a hell of a lot better at safety.
Really embarrassing that the owner chooses assistant coaches. Don't necessarily think it will be a bad hire though. _________________

Monte:
Quote: | "I came away from the interview process with Jason with a feeling that Dallas is the right place to be. He has this team headed in the right direction. They're close, and I am confident that there are quality pieces in place for us to be able to get the job done." |
Garrett:
Quote: | "I know Monte from spending time together with him with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had a chance to see him coach up close on a day-to-day basis. His ability to teach everything - from the smallest fundamental details to the big picture of the overall defensive scheme - was always very impressive to me." |

This is a good move for Dallas. I think Kiffin will move DWare around to confuse offense and he will turn Bruce Carter and Sean Lee in to very good LBs. My only question is at CB and according to Kiffin, he won't force the cover 2 on his CBs. He will slowly teach them.
Another reason this is a smart move is, since so many teams have moved to a 3-4, it is harder to find talent. This allows Dallas to do the opposite and start looking for 4-3 guys.
I can't wait to see what Demarcus Ware does in this system. _________________

He'll be bringing you guys an exciting defense in the 4-3 Under. Albeit the man is a legend, fans in Tampa were growing frustrated with how stubborn and unreceptive to adaptation he was. _________________
