I think the only reason they brought him in is because he said he could work with Weeden. I'm sure other coaches want a QB competition... _________________ I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous. |

Because Haslem and Banner are tied with Weeden.

The owner has say, and he hired both of them. I just don't think The Canibalistic Humanoid underground dweller has it... Sorry Clevelone..
Love both his movies though.. _________________ I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous. |

You are so confusing on this.
What does the owner hiring Banner and Chud have to do with Weeden?
Not one person on the new staff is tied to Weeden.
Will they play him? They just might
I doubt the pre-requisite to getting the job was being forced to work with him though. _________________

You are getting that bent out of shape over a lukewarm hire like this... I know as a fan you have no choice but to be optimistic, but from my perspective it looks like the organization is just peeing on the fans heads and telling them it raining.. _________________ I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous. |

Some of the best HC's in the game today were little known assistants like Mike McCarthy, Sean Peyton, John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin and Mike Smith. Just because you hardly know who the guy is doesn't mean it's a lukewarm hiring. Hiring re-treads hardly ever works. _________________

That's how they become the retreads to begin with.
It's a pointless argument. No one knows how Chud will do because he's a big unknown as a first-time HC. Yet ITT the only people getting hounded are those who aren't impressed with the hire. If it's unfair to call Chud 'lukewarm,' it should be equally unfair to praise the hire. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |

I didn't like what Chud did with Carolina this season. I saw a team that should be an exceptional running team give up on it, even when it was effective, far too frequently. His playcalling may have been good to help Cam put up historic production in his first two years, but that came at a cost. I thought he was on the right track in 2011, but his playcalling and gameplanning took a big step back IMO. I normally wouldn't hold a down year against a coach if it wasn't so friggin' obvious.
Best of luck to him in Cleveland. |

I don't know about Chud that much so I'll refrain from saying much. _________________

Legitimate critiques of the hire, why he wont work or while he will work are one thing. There are just random cheap shots at Cleveland because we're the league's punching bag fan base. _________________

EZ FTW.
The legit comments and worries are understandable and welcomed.
The random Browns being Browns or Browns are cheap comments make no sense and are borderline trolling. _________________

I'm just hoping for your guys' sake that he learned from his OC mistakes in Carolina. When he was on, he was very good. But he'd get stubborn with his scheme and periodically the situational playcalling would make you scratch your head. _________________
