He started out by showing some potential. Last year as a starter he was a solid safety and playing pretty well.. This year under Kevin Coyle, he really turned it on and has become a quietly good safety for us. I look forward to him getting even better next season under Kevin Coyle _________________

Not that its a big deal, but is this really newsworthy? Its one thing if he already signed the extension, but an average safety WORKING on an extension really isnt news at all. _________________

He's one of the better safeties currently in the league, yes it's newsworthy... i don't really need to say that if you're not interested in this subject, you can just simply not click on it, right? _________________

Smart by Miami, since they have a lot of cap room. _________________

Your definition of average is a lot different then mine. Very glad we are working on an extension this early got to lock him up. |

One of my favorite players in that draft class. I wanted us to get him, and was shocked he went so late. I'm happy we got TJ Ward (when he is healthy), but glad you guys found a gem, hopefully you get him locked up long term. _________________

Really glad we're locking him up, he moved up into the Top 10 at Safety this past season, one of our most consistent defensive players easily. Really going to be disappointed if we let him go. _________________ With much cheese,

I was ticked as well that we passed on him. Bengals needed a safety bad and I was a huge Jones fan out of UGA. I think I had him rated as a 2nd round safety IIRC. Zimmer made some comments after the draft about none of the safeties being able to play so that's why the Bengals didn't draft any.
We had a killer draft that season, but man it sucked missing on Jones... |

Jones actually graded out as a top 3 safety this year. He has played quietly well. He doesn't get a lot of recognition because our defense overall ended up playing average. _________________
