|
|
|
Most Conference Championship Appearance by a Quarterback in NFL history:
Tom Brady
01, 03, 04, 06, 07, 11, 12
Joe Montana
81, 83, 84, 88, 89, 90, 93
Bradshaw and Elway appeared in 6.
Now mind you, depending on team position, some QBs have had to win two playoff games to get to the Conference final as oppose to just 1.
Montana and Brady both got to a Conference Championship on one occasion when starting playoffs in wildcard weekend. In Montana's case however do note the 49ers only needed a 10-6 record to get a BYE week in both 83 & 88.
This again brings up the point of how impressive Eli Manning's two Super Bowl runs have been (only QB to win 4 playoff games in a season twice). _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

I would agree, at the least, definitely going to be right up there with Montana...just them two alone at the top. _________________

Stupid stats that attribute team success to QBs. That's why everyone will continue to give them too much credit and too much blame. _________________ Equal Opportunity Hater

Very good point. For those of us who actually remember the 3 Partriot Super Bowls, it was their defense that was winning those playoff games. Since there defense has taken a step back and their offense has carried the team, they have won a ton of playoff games but no Super Bowl. It aint all about the QB.. it just aint! |

While true, I don't think you can say lack of defense blew the Patriots the last two Super Bowls. Eli Manning is simply too good. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

Montana doesn't have a cheating conspiracy tied to his records though. _________________

He did have a few steroid junkies on his team in those later Super Bowls though.....
Just saying we can play this game all day. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

This is why quarterbacks receive most of the credit and criticism.....

Every interception thrown decreases your teams' chance of winning 25%. If you have a quarterback who protects the football and doesn't turn it over, you win 80% of the time. _________________ Stevan Ridley, Att: 225, Yds: 1010, Y/A: 4.0, TD:9

Considering the team has pretty much changed over from their 2001 SB win, I call BS on you. It's all Brady if you like him or not. |

in a salary cap era, niners probably can't even keep half the players they had. that itself is a cheating. |
