April 25-27, 2013: NFL DRAFT

Buffalo Trades #8 and #39 to Oakland for #3
Philadelphia Trades #36 and #66 to Indianapolis for #28
Miami Trades #74 and #108 to Oakland for #65
Atlanta Trades #60 and #92 to Dallas for #48
San Francisco Trades #184 and #224 to Cleveland for #178

I'll take flak for referencing a few sites and trying to etch out the compensatory picks, but I accept the extra drama. Had fun.

Round 1 Team Player Pos
1 Kansas City Geno Smith QB
Despite Dorsey's posturing, their best move would be to take Geno if they can't pluck Flynn or Smith during free agency.
2 Jacksonville Damontre Moore DE
Finally a gifted athlete on the right side of the defensive line. Moore alone will add footing to Jacksonville's significance in the league next season.
3 Buffalo (via Oakland) Mike Glennon QB
Glennon's stock should continue to rise, despite having a relatively lackluster bowl game. Before you cry foul, Oakland allows Buffalo to jump Philadelphia and Arizona on the cheap since they have a number of positions to address.
4 Philadelphia Luke Joeckel OT
It's either Joeckel or Milliner here, although Milliner is gaining ground.
5 Detroit Bjoern Werner DE
Replacing and upgrading Vanden Bosh on the line should be Detroit's priority, despite their need to reload at linebacker and CB. Either Jarvis Jones or Werner should be representing the Lions next season.
6 Cleveland Kevin Minter ILB
May not be much a surprise to those that have seen his game tape. He fills a position of need and is a great fit for this defense.
7 Arizona Eric Fisher OT
No need to say much here. Despite level of competition, Fisher is a solid prospect who can start at either spot day one.
8 Oakland (via Buffalo) Star Lotulelei DT
The regime change will bounce Tommy Kelly and other players in need of salary and attitude adjustments. Lotulelei is a decent start.
9 New York Jets Jarvis Jones OLB
Jones will be a force on the edge and can also be the rush linebacker they lack in four man looks.
10 Tennessee Dee Milliner CB
If he doesn't go to Oakland or Philadelphia, Milliner shouldn't get past Tennessee. This should move Verner inside to the slot and give them someone who can handle their competition's physical receiver.
11 San Diego Chance Warmack OG
Needing o-line, why not take the best guard in the draft unless McCoy is asking for a pure ZBS play.
12 Miami Tyler Eifert TE
Either Ertz or Eifert here. Miami is in need of a top-end, versatile TE to fully implement Philbin's offense. Wide receivers and outside linebackers will still be available in 2-3.
13 Tampa Bay Jonathan Banks CB
Banks will excel in the 4-3 over. Long arms and difficult to throw at, Tampa desparately needs corners that can hold their own in cover zero.
14 Carolina Johnathan Hankins DT
Carolina could afford to beef up their tackle position on base downs.
15 New Orleans Sheldon Richardson DT
Ranking last in defense almost always starts up front. Sedrick Ellis needs some competition on the line.
16 St. Louis Keenan Allen WR
St. Louis has the luxury of getting creative with their first round, but with Lewan and Matthews returning for their senior seasons, should look for value plays.
17 Pittsburgh Dion Jordan OLB
Jordan's athleticism makes him very scheme adverse, and while his best position may be strongside linebacker similar to Von Miller, Pittsburgh wouldn't mind if he focused on outside linebacker.
18 Dallas DJ Fluker OG
Fluker could push Free to the inside at guard and play right tackle. I think that Dallas has to be comfortable first with which position he grades out at best.
19 New York Giants Sam Montgomery DE
I've seen more options here for the Giants than most teams, but they will need to eventually replace Tuck, and let Umenyiora walk to keep their cap honest.
20 Chicago Manti Te'o ILB
At 34, Urlacker will be sunsetted out of the starting spot. Te'o should take over at strongside next to Roach and Briggs.
21 Cincinnati Alec Ogletree ILB
Malaluga was targetted repeatedly during the loss to Houston. He's a decent talent, but doesn't have the lateral range Cincinnati needs to get off the field on third down.
22 St. Louis (via Washington) Alex Okafor DE
Why would St. Louis add more DE talent to an already stout line? Safeties will fall into the second day, so why not add insurance here.
23 Minnesota Sylvester Williams DT
Minnesota regains the Williams wall magic, although probably not for long. Still a decent player, Kevin Williams numbers are down and at age 32 is running out of tread.
24 Philadelphia (via Indianapolis) Matt Barkley QB
Despite the knocks against Matt Barkley, he's a solid player in a west coast offensive scheme.
25 Seattle Sharrif Floyd DT
Floyd jumps out on film for LSU, as does Minter. Seattle's third down defense is too predictable and needs an inside pass rush option.
26 Green Bay Ezikiel Ansah OLB
If Ansah doesn't get picked up sooner, he may be the pick. Bigger than Walden, Ansah can support both Perry and Matthews on the edge to help the defense in late game situations.
27 Houston Jesse Williams DT
The Texans could affort more beef at nose tackle; it showed down the stretch and was exposed in combination with their injuries at inside linebacker.
28 Denver Larry Warford OG
Although DT is arguably their biggest need, Warford will continue to climb; he has tremendous mobility for a player his size and can get to the second level consistently.
29 Baltimore Arthur Brown ILB
Brown is a natural inside linebacker and can shed blocks well. Scouts have nothing but good things to say about him outside of his average height.
30 Atlanta Datone Jones DE
With Abraham's injuries starting to add up, Jones can step in when needed for the Falcons.
31 San Francisco Quinton Patton WR
San Francisco will continue to look for vertical threat receivers opposite Crabtree. Patton won't disappoint.
32 New England Jonathan Cooper OG
The Patriots could add some insurance on the interior of the line. Cooper is a value pick.

Round 2 Team Player Pos
33 Kansas City Coradelle Patterson WR
34 Jacksonville Barrett Jones OG
35 Cincinnati (via Oakland) Kenny Vaccaro FS
36 Indianapolis (via Philadelphia) Barkevious Mingo OLB
37 Detroit Matt Elam SS

Meh garbage for Bills. If Bills trade it back into 1st for another riser Ryan Nassib.

Cliff Avril is interesting as well.. He is gonna get payed so mock us Jones/Te'o/Milliner at 8 and trade back for Nassib who our HC will favor over trading up for Glennon and loosing a 2nd

Ya this is real bad for the Bills. There is no QB worth trading up for from 8. I would rather sit there are wait for a QB to fall to us no need to give up a second. Plus you add two DE's when we have four on the roster so no need for that. LB and CB was not addressed at all and not a fan of Swope doesnt do anything but add a log jam to our #4 WR position.

Love Lavar Edwards, but I think we need to go DE earlier on.

First two rounds are magic! Banks and Rhodes, that's perfect

Im not a huge fan of Ryan Otten, id prefer Stedman Bailey there.

love Lester, i'll accept taking a tackle with that 4th rounder, though using our 7th to trade up a couple spots to grab Jordan Reed would be great

dont like drafting a FB. Lorig played great this year, no need to replace him, so with that pick take Kejon Barner.

all in all though VERY good bucs mock, very few complaints, and love the Dorsey pickup!

Overall, I like it for the bengals. There are a few places where i would go a different route, but for right now, it looks good.

If the Bengals do not re-sign Andre Smith I think they would draft a tackle earlier than that. But with the cap room they have, they should be able to re-sign Andre if they want to.

Pretty poor fro the Vikings, before I get into that, I just want to point out that the round seven comp picks are wrong, the record based picks go after the player based ones.

First off, I guess you don't have that many veteran FA, but the Vikings are going to be around top half in cap space, so unlikely they don't make some splash with one of the mid level free agents at least. And you based none of your predictions off of available cap space, right now the Jets are in cap hell, resigning Green, signing Bowe, Smith, Moore, and Vick, not possible, especially since Sanchez isn't extremely viable for being cut. Google search cap numbers as those are huge when making free agency predictions.

1st Round: Williams is a solid DT, but I'm not sure if worth that spot. Jesse Williams is a better player, or Arthur Brown hits a big need at ILB. Patton or Patterson again hit a bigger need and probably more BPA.

2nd Round: Swearinger is a reach there, DeAndre Hopkins would be a great value pick, as would Logan Ryan, either of them would be much better than Swearinger, S is also a much lower need than WR.

3rd Round: Bailey is a solid pick.

4th Round: Thornton is a good pick, I personally think that Bailey is the better prospect there though. Reddick is a great pick.

5th Round: Duke Williams is a very solid pick.

6th Round: Jeff Baca is okay, however the Vikings would probably look at another LB here.

7th Round: Fales is okay.

More likely Vikings draft:

1st: Jesse Williams
2nd: DeAndre Hopkins
3rd: Kiko Alanso
4tha: Alvin Bailey
4thb: Trevardo Williams
5th: Duke Williams
6th: Ty Zimmerman
7th: David Fales

Agreed with both of these bros. Try again. And ya know research teams needs and strengths ...
