I'm not saying this was a good fire but I can somewhat understand the thinking behind it. Obviously Horton wanted the HC job. Once passed over maybe some resentment either from him or players who supported him getting the job might occur? That could have led to a divided locker room down the line if players had more respect for Horton then the HC brought in? Not saying that without a doubt was going to be the case but surely it was a possibility.

The worst thing is we are probably going to lose Peterson (Not going to Resign), Rhodes, Wilson, Dockett over the next year or two. Talk about blowing it up.

People have reported it.
All three of them were discussed as 3-4 OLBs coming out....it's not a perfect transition obviously but I think they could do it.
But we need to rebuild the D so much it doesn't really matter....alot of work needs to be done for either scheme.
Fletcher Cox as a 3-4 end works, Cullen Jenkins obviously fits. Kendricks would be fine as an ILB.
Not an amazing fit right away but at least there are a couple pieces if he does.
But again he didn't commit to what we are doing scheme-wise.
