To your second point- no
To your first point: Browns fans were, as a whole, supportive of Heckert and felt like he was doing the right thing. And then Banner fired him under the idea that he would bring in someone better.
However, rumors existed that Michael Lombardi was his target the whole time, despite the fact that Lombardi has absolutely zero qualifications for this job, and was just handed it for no reason. Lombardi is trash and his failures will be forever linked to Joe Banner whose name will be poison unless we win.

In his defense Schefter tweeted that he was hired as the GM, then quickly updated his tweet minutes later

Well I suppose we will find out whether Chud can coach or not. Because he certainly isn't going to get any players.
Unless they still make another hire and Lombardi won't be actually acquiring the players?

Back when he was with the Browns he took Touchdown Tommy Vardell (FB) with the 6th overall pick. Does that tell you why we don't like this?
The honeymoon with Haslem and Banner looks like it will be short lived.

He wasnt even good on the NFLN anyways lol. But I dont know much about him as an NFL Exec ... but Browns fans sure dont like him.
I still dont understand why they fired Heckert anyway. He was bringing in good players.

We had him here once, his primary successes were in helping Bill Belichick draft terrible players and helping drive Bernie Kosar out of town.
