|
|
|
Looking back throughout the years the Panthers have always had a well stocked roster of RB's. There has been plenty of let downs in the past but there has been no shortage of talent at the position. But looking back, who was your favorite?
Stephen Davis- He came to us as FA but he was the first RB to show the Panthers what a franchise RB really was. He had speed in his prime with great power.
Tim Biakabutuka- Growing up as a little kid he was my favorite player. I think looking back he might have been the most talented RB in Panther's history. Injuries stole his career. He had problems fumbling but he had all the tools.
Deangelo Williams- The franchises leading rusher. He's easily been the most exciting RB to watch in our short history. He is Barry Sanders lite.
Johnathan Stewart- Physical freak, punishing runner that has the speed to take it to the house. We don't know yet if he'll still be with the team but if he becomes the #1 guy look out. Jury still out
Deshaun Foster- If you asked me who I thought were the most talented RB's in Panthers history just on raw ability, I'd give you 3 names. 1. Biakabatuka 2. Deangelo Williams 3. Deshaun Foster. Like Tim, Foster lost a lot of his ability due to injury. In fact I believe he tore his ACL his rookie year, yet when he was healthy you could not deny his talent was up there with the best. Of all the runners in Panthers history I admired his game the most. I know people hate on his fumbling issues, but he literally fought for every yard. His ability to break tackles was unmatched and was a great team player. I wish he could have been injury free because I think he could have taken the league by storm.
Honorable mentions: Fred Lane, Nick Goings, Brad Hoover[/b] |

Same here. I have been a fan of his since we draft him. He's a good character guy.
Brad Hoover is 2nd, only because he went to my alma matter; Western Carolina. _________________

I'm putting my vote out there for Hooooooooover! Man was a consumate professional and opened up holes for almost all of the mentioned RB's, helping to make great players even better. Was also a big fan favorite, I'll always remember he and Smitty signed lots of autographs before games. _________________ Keeping the Panthers relevant in the city of angels. |

Jonathan Stewary. Love that man. So underrated, especially by those who think Williams is better. _________________

Mike Goodson!!!
Kidding.
Definitely Stephen Davis. That guy was a TD machine and really, JAKE DELHOMME made it to the Superbowl as a starting QB. How do we think that happened? Yes, Stephen Davis. _________________
