So despite this going against everything Ted Thompson has done in recent years, does anyone think that TT could go after any FAs this year?

I realize that the cap room we have needs to be saved somewhat for Rodgers, Matthews, and Raji. However, I believe I saw that we were projected to have around $8 Million in cap room. Add in a potential cut of Woodson, which would save around $10, the departure of Jennings which would save even more, maybe a cut of Hawk, Saturday, and Finley, I wonder if this team may look to FA to fix some of its holes.

For example, RB. Its clear that we need one. However, the draft looks weak in that respect, as well as the fact that spending a high draft pick on a rookie doesn't always work out. So for example, a Reggie Bush hitting the market, one of the perfect 3 down ZBS backs for us as he can come out of the backfield and catch, pass protect, etc. is expected to hit the market and has proven he can be the primary back with a change of pace backup.

Another option, maybe a cheaper option than Finley at TE so we can cut him and save a bit while still remaining strong at the position. A player such as Keller who brings the ability to line up and catch as a FB as well as effectively line up in the backfield, which actually would save us money for next year at least though committing more long term salary. Or a guy like Jared Cook who has been productive, but hasnt had the QB play Rodgers provides.

Point is, FAs can have an impact on this team. TT did just sign Jeff Saturday to become a starter for us. Obviously, Im not expecting TT to throw a ton of money at an option like some teams will at a guy like Mike Wallace. But to completely ignore FA would be a mistake IMO. Its not like other teams don't have pricey FAs coming off rookie contracts to sign either. In fact, you could say every team has pricey contracts coming up in the next two years.

So I ask, does anyone see TT being active in the FA at all?
