Fisher will be probably be a Cardinal, Charger, Eagle, etc. Doubt he'd last to 14.
I really have no idea where I'd like us to go with our first pick. We could use a safety, DT, OL, and WR. I'd be cool with any of them really. Don't have opinions on certain players since I don't watch college ball.
Wouldn't mind going after a kicker/punter either (though probably not in the draft). Could see us going after a second TE, a developmental QB, and a scatback if we dump one of Double Trouble. _________________

Scot Wright posted that we've met with:
CB Sanders Commings (Projected round 5-6)
Played for Georgia, has big size and decent speed.
WR Conner Vernon (PR 4-5)
Receiver from Duke that I have no idea about. Any of you ACC people able to shed some light on him?
CB Robert Alford (PR 3)
Small school kid with ok size and good speed. _________________

Sheldon Richardson is a guy I keep hearing as a target for the Panthers. Warmack could fall but he should have a good combine.
I have to keep reminding myself that Frank Alexander is essentially part of the 2013 class. Hurney was flimsy with trading picks but I think he got the last one right. |
Maybe it's just because DT isn't a sexy pick, but I just don't think we should go for a tackle in the first round, unless it's Star. I think we could get serviceable ones in the later rounds. |
I like Hankins over Richardson, just a personal preference. Hes more of a run stopper which is what we need. _________________

He might fall in to our laps in the 2nd round. That's the only way I would consider taking him. He's a prospect that will probably go in the early 20's through the first part of the 2nd round. _________________

I don't think I would even take him that high. I don't like him at all. _________________

Never thought it was that high to begin with. He's good, but he's not a top 20 prospect. _________________

No wideout really comes in as a "top 20" prospect.
My rankings are something like:
1. Cordarrelle Patterson
2. Keenan Allen
3. Justin Hunter
4. Terrance Williams
But I think all 4 of those guys (and anyone else) would be a reach at 14. _________________

I have him, Justin Hunter, and Kenaan Allen as 1a, 1b, and 1c. All of them could go first, just depends on the offense. None of them are top 20 talents though. This is a very poor WR class for elite talent. Those guys will probably end up being #1 guys somewhere. _________________

Our need for a WR is huge though. It could be worth reaching. Plus it seems like every year playmakers like WR's go much sooner than projected. All it's going to take is one team in the first 15 selections to accelerate the WR pickings. |

Disagree. Our future receiver needs could be huge, but for right now we've got more than enough to get by on. Adding a playmaker with value would be a great pick (say, if one of these 4 or Hopkins/Austin is available in the 2nd), but reaching isn't the right move at that position. _________________

If you're picking and the guy rated far and away highest on your board is the WR, then take him and be happy he was there. That's not likely though, in my opinion. Chances are there will probably be a DT, OT, or S rated roughly the same (or, more likely, much higher). In that case, you take the position of need. Unequal ratings = BPA. Equal ratings = BPA at a position of need.
And I agree, if one of those guys is there in the second, I think you have to jump all over it. _________________
