Lets say that the 49ers win the Super Bowl.. Does Colin Kaepernick get MVP votes?
He has completely changed this 49ers team over the last 10 weeks or so and its pretty dang obvious that they wouldn't be this far without him. They aren't scoring 40 points in a game with Alex Smith. He would have lead them to the Super Bowl and won, it was more than just a playoff fluke as well he did play the last 6 weeks of the regular season. ( I think it was 6, correct me if I am wrong)
So all that being said, does he collect a few votes?
By no means do I think he will win but I'd say he is deserving a few 3rd or 4th place votes. The only downside is that the MVP announcement is before the Super Bowl. _________________

You just answered your own question.
They announce it before the Super Bowl. Therefore, the votes are cast before the Super Bowl. Therefore, any play in the Super Bowl is not able to be factored into the voting process. Therefore, unless Kaepernick got votes weeks ago, he isn't getting any. _________________

MVP award has nothing to do with playoff performance; so no.
Peyton in 1st, AP in 2nd. _________________

There are a few reasons why he won't win mvp:
1. Many have already decided who they're voting for
2. It's a regular season award, and Kaepernick only played for half a season.
3. The 49ers were already a talented bunch to begin with. They got to the Championship game last year and nearly won it with Smith, why couldn't they have gotten this far without Kaep?
4. If Kaepernick, then why not Flacco?
There are just too many good players this year who have played full seasons. Kaep was good, but not good enough to catch up to people like Manning, Rodgers, Brady, and Peterson. |

Not a chance. No one in that room will even remember he played this year.
If someone is dumb enough to vote for him, I hope his voting rights are revoked. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

If he wins the Superbowl, he will be MVP of the Superbowl. If the Ravens win, it'll be Flacco or Ray Lewis (it would just be fitting to be Ray Lewis, but that's unfair, especially if Flacco has a good game). _________________

IIRC, the votes are cast right after the regular season. They just aren't announced until the day before the SB. _________________

It wouldn't matter if they were cast before or after. It'd be a joke if he got MVP votes. _________________

Yeah, the votes are casted BEFORE the playoffs, so none of this matters. _________________

I'm about as homer as they come when it comes to my team and players, but no. No chance. There are many more guys out there more deserving that played all year. _________________

They put up 36 vs the Saints last year in the divisional round and were a muffed punt away from beating the Giants to go to the Super Bowl. I don't see how you can claim they wouldn't "be this far" without Kap.
As for MVP votes - he deserves none _________________

Absolutely not. In the regular season he's not anywhere close to the discussion. It's not a postseason award. _________________

If Colin Kaepernick wins the Superbowl, do you think he replaces Alex Smith in week 9?
Lol time travel question.
Thank goodness MVP voting takes places before the playoffs, otherwise the quarterback of whichever teams wins the superbowl is the MVP. _________________
