We are young but we are nor rebuilding. If you build it...they will come.
Resign
PR Josh Cribbs 3 year 10 million 2013 cap hit: 1.5 million
- The heart and soul of the Cleveland Browns?
K Phil Dawson 3 year 7.5 million 2013 cap hit: 2 million
- Can you argue against his production?
TE Ben Watson 2 year 7.5 million 2013 cap hit: 1.5 million
- He might be on his way out but I think he's still got some gas in the tank.
Extend
C Alex Mack 5 Year 36 Million 2013 cap hit: 2.5 million
- Pivotal to keep Mack on this line for years to come.
SS TJ Ward 4 year 12.5 million 2013 cap hit: 3 million
- Locking up TJ would be a big hit! (See what I did there?)
High Priced Free Agents (10 Million + a year)
***NONE***
Mid-Level Free Agents (3-9 Million a year)
OG - Louis Vasquez SD 5 Year 20 Million 2013 cap hit: 5 Million
- Norv Turner will use Vasquez to plug the major whole in the left side of the O-Line.
CB - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie PHI 4 Year 20 Million 2013 cap hit: 5 Million
- Horton knows what DRC can do and Banner will lure him to Cleveland.
FS - Jairus Byrd BUF 4 Year 20 Million 2013 cap hit: 4 million
- While Chip Kelley may try and lure the Byrd man into Philly we deploy Jariuss college roommate Mr. TJ Ward to seal the deal.
Low End Rotational Free Agents (Under 3 Million a year)
OLB - Quentin Groves ARZ 3 year 5 Million 2013 cap hit: 1.5 Million
- Horton has helped train this once prominent pass rusher into a pretty decent rotational player in Arizona and will rally to bring him in to play the same role.
QB Derek Anderson CAR 2 Year 2 Million 2015 cap hit: 1 Million
- I dont want him back but Colt is on his way out and Chud has a crush on him.
Restricted Free Agents
P - Britton Colquitt DEN (RFA)
- Big boots run in the Colquitt family and our transition game with Hodges was on par with pitiful last season. Giving up a 7th round pick for a Restricted Punter may cause a stir but the juice is well worth the squeeze.
2013 NFL Draft
Round 1 - DE/OLB Damontre Moore Texas A&M 64 250
- Versatility is key and Moore can play great with his hand on the ground or from a standing backer position. His zone coverage skills are underrated and if he is there at 6 he is BPA and the key to our young killer defense.
Round 2 *Forfeited for Supplemental Draft Pick Josh Gordon 63 225
- Id say we got our moneys worth for this pick.
***Trade*** Colt McCoy and 2012 3rd round and 7th round picks to the Green Bay Packers for Round 2 pick #58
Round 2 WR - Quinton Patton - Louisiana Tech - 62 195
- Senior Bowl Stud has the makings to solidify our young WR core that is one playmaker short of complete,
Round 3 - *Traded to Green Bay
Round 4 CB/S - Tyrann Mathieu Former LSU - 59 180
- Name a 4th round pick with this kind of playmaking skill
thats right. Ill take a risk on the Honey Badger with strict contract stipulations.
Round 5 S - D.J. Swearinger South Carolina 6 210
- AKA Jungle Boi, this kid has a nose for the ball and an attitude that is infectious on the field. Can be played at CB or Safety.
Fun to watch! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zzy5UTdmWY
Round 6 FB Zack Boron The Ohio State University 61 245
- Best blocking FB in the draft - Marecic is one of the worst FBs I've ever seen.
Round 7 *Forfeited for - Britton Colquitt 63 205
Round 7 - *From Eagles for David Sims Traded to Green Bay
Round 7 (Compensatory) LS - P.J. Mangieri Nebraska 64 240
Never had a bad snap on special teams and can also play Guard - Go ahead blast me for taking a Long Snapper! Its a 7th round compensatory pick
come on man!

Those are some pretty favorable numbers in terms of contract money. I think a lot of those guys you listed rake in a good deal more. However, I'm a huge fan of most of those acquisitions.
Unfortunately, the draft falls flat for me. We're going to need to pick up some more depth than that. Also, the players you have us taking that I do like (Moore,Swearinger) probably don't last that long.
Good stab, I just don't think it's in the realm of possibility or reality. _________________

Dude I love your Mock Draft! You killed the Draft! I see some good players coming towards us. Just don't care to much about the free agent. Like Derek Anderson, not a big fan on him. Rather have a runner type of QB that can gain us some yards with his feet instead throwing a turnover with his arm. We have a QB that has a arm. Now we need a QB with speed and can make passes down the field and short passes. We need a long term goal player. _________________ NFL: Titans_Ravens_

If they make a trade up like that, it's going to be for a TE not a WR.
Other than that, I really like it. Especially the "juice is worth the squeeze" line. |

let Cribbs walk! the only thing he does is return kicks. I rather get a back up WR or back RB to become a returner. Allow them to develop at their other positions and its allows them to contribute to the team.
I would love to see Ben be a return, to me he is more dangerous because he actually has homerun speed.
Cribbs has worn out his stay in Cleveland. He is a great returner but he never developed into nothing else. He has played with 3 different coaches and he could do nothing under any of them. Time to give his roster spot to a player who can develop into an all around playmaker if its on offense or defense _________________

I really want us to grab Zach Eifert but there is no scenario that works in our favor.

Tyler Eifert - Sorry my brain is dead, I just had a my first child on Sunday and did this mock on 2 hours of sleep.
I understand that many prospects may not be there but there are plenty of people I've wanted to draft that fell like crazy. Such as: Arian Foster, Rashad Jennings, etc.
You can say Moore will not be there at 6 but wity players like Dequan Bowers and Nick Fairley that fall every year...you never know. _________________

Bowers fell because of injury and Fairley because of immaturity issues, I can see a similar slide for Jones of UGA, but not Damontre Moore. He'll go top three most assuredly. _________________

Good luck getting a decent night's sleep for the next two or three years. I woke up last night at 3am with my 2 year-old slapping me in the face and demanding a bottle of milk. Good times. |
