they can't afford a long term extension for him...
This is currently where we stand.
Atlanta gets:
TE Jimmy Graham
New Orleans gets:
Falcons 2013 1st round pick
Falcons 2014 2nd round pick
What are y'all's thoughts?
I'd be ok with it if we can get him to sign an extension. _________________

I'm personally against the trade, but its not for me to decide on.
My reasoning is we REALLY NEED a DE and I feel that trade hinders out ability to do so. Anyways let me know how it goes! _________________

Anyways let me know how it goes! | If we can keep Robinson and Moore, we will have all of 2012's starters under contract. We'll also have cap to spend on a defensive end, so why not try and get a guy like Cliff Avril who can line up anywhere? Or even try and make a play for Michael Bennett? But Jimmy Graham would definitely be a better piece for the offense than Tony Gonzalez was. He's the same reliability. he boxes out on third downs and is great in the red zone too. But more than that, he can stretch a defense and is a much better blocker. _________________

I agree with Adam. Jimmy Graham is very enticing, but I don't want to burden our offense with making up for the defense's mistakes next season. IMO our primary focus should be revamping this defense. _________________

I'd counter with a '13 2nd and '14 1st. _________________

But when it comes to cap, we'll have the ability to go and get a big name defensive end pass rusher who has established himself. _________________

Very well then. I am for the trade as long as we have enough to sign a premiere DE in FA.
Try to work the deal though more in our favor in terms of picks? _________________

It should depend on the caliber of the player before we make any significant trade. _________________

I would have done that in a ******* heartbeat. Are you kidding me?
I mean, in real life I would have thought twice (the contract etc.). But within the context of FFMD - Jimmy Graham for the #30 pick and pay him peanuts - R U Serious?
Anyway, great negotiating Scar - remind me to take you with me next time I buy a car... _________________
