You ask if you mind it, then the poll question is "do you like it?"
I answered no, as in I don't mind it, but should have answered yes that I like it I think. |
Well it's hard to gauge the different levels...
There's people who hate trash talk anywhere it exists, people who only like trash talk on the field, people who like all forms of trash talk, people who like it as long as it doesn't get dirty, ect...
I decided to just keep it simple with a yes or no. I figured most people would know which side they were on. |
My problem isn't that it's a yes or no, it's that if you read the question in your title and the question in your poll, an answer of "yes" is pro-trash talk in response to one while anti-trash talk to the other.
"Yes I like trash talk" is pro-trash talk while "Yes I mind trash talk" is anti-trash talk. |
Hmm, I agree with you. I think I edited the sentence in question. |

I don't care for it. It makes the player look and sound stupid and its even worse when they can't back it up. Its rather sad if a guy has to talk himself into getting fired up to play with emotion. _________________

Sherman talks a lot but I've also seen him laugh a lot and get along with opposing receivers (while still shutting them down). As long as they can back it up it's fine with me. Sherm is humble too he understands not to go over the limit and gives other guys tons of respect too. _________________

I've never seen a Jaguar player, in recent history, play good enough to back up any smack talk, so I don't like it when they do. _________________

So you don't like it when opposing players back up their talk? or? Because Sherman has backed himself up quite well. If you're talking abou that TD vs ATL I'd put that more on Chancellor. He should of been in better position. Sherman thought he had his back protected if he went deep. It's still Sherms fault too for falling but chancellor should of been there. _________________

I absolutely hate trash talk
Just shut up and play and your game will talk for yourself
Its stupid, arrogant and annoying even if the player back it up _________________

I dont mind it before and during the game. Some are able to do it well enough to mess w/ the opponent or throw them off or anger them and they makes mistakes. Afterwards its pointless and you look a bit of a tool. _________________

Yes. It's why when Hawks fans say I'd love Sherman I'm not so sure. Ike Taylor and Keenan Lewis talk mad trash. As does Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace. And Santonio Holmes used to as well. And I yell at the TV every single time that they do. _________________

Trash talk is pointless.....it's bred from fear, or a feeling of inferiority. The need to say something prior to performing is an egocentric act. If it's on the field and part of the "gamesmanship" it's one thing, and leave it there....but when it's done through the media or from the individuals' "soap box" (aka Twitter) it just has that Jerry Springer, MTV, "Reality" Show feel to it where it's simply for attention.
It's professional sports...be professional and understand that EVERYONE has humbling moments and has been or will be put in their place, regardless of how loudly or how often they pound their chest or point at the name on the back of their jersey as opposed to the name on the front. _________________ Stevan Ridley, Att: 225, Yds: 1010, Y/A: 4.0, TD:9

As long as they can back it up, go ahead, I don't mind.
I'm not really in the business of telling grown men how to behave. At the end of the day, it's just a game. |
