With the Browns going back to the 34 I was wondering if DQ possessed a good trade value?
As a Browns fan I am well aware of his issues in the 34 and how he shined in the 43.
There isn't any trade rumors that I know of to spur this on that I know of.
For reference it has been done before when Phi & Hou trade DeMarco Ryans for a 4th.
Hopefully this is the right forum for this. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

His best year was in a 34. I'd want a second for him but still wouldn't do it. _________________

Yea seriously. I would give a 4th no problem though. _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.

???
His best year IMO was 2011.
Not that he wasnt any good before that, but back in 2007/2008 when he was being pimped, he was making most of his tackles 5+ yards beyond the line of scrimmage and wasnt making any splash plays. Wasnt really hist fault though since the Browns didnt have much talent around him.
Anyway, Jackson will be 30 this year, and while he still has 5 good years left most likely, he isnt a stand out type player. He is worth more to the Browns than they would likely be able to get in a trade.
If I were a 43 team that was only a few pieces away and needed an ILB, Id give up a 2nd, depending on where we were picking.
However, in most cases, I dont see him drawing more than 3rd round value, and he is worth more than that to the Browns. _________________

I'd love to have him on the ravens but no way we can take him with that contract and I'm not sure how hard the browns would be hit with the cap considering he has four years left. _________________

I won't be sorry when the Ravens finish 8-8. |

We have 48 mil to spend this year so I'd imagine his salary won't be a problem _________________

It's a really interesting contract. From what I can tell, the Browns would only eat $5.6M (4/5 of the $7M signing bonus), which would actually save them $800k from his 2013 cap hit if he stays with the team.
For the team trading for him, his cap hits:
2013: $5M
2014: $6.7M
2015: $5M
2016: $5.6M
That's not terrible, but it's probably a little excessive for a guy who is getting up in age, is limited to one position in one scheme, and has never really been a whole lot of a playmaker outside of one game this past season. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

I'd trade a 3rd. Jackson would be a huge upgrade over Brooking. _________________ Broncos-Bulls-Cubs-CU-Blackhawks |
