John Harbaugh or Pete Carroll deserved it more. John because he made the SB with freaking Joe Flacco. Pete Carroll cause I'm a Hawk homer _________________ [quote="aceinthehouse"]

I can't believe they didn't give Pagano and Arians the award? No credit to Pagano for getting these guys ready for the season and essentially being their entire motivation for playing as hard as they did. I don't disagree that Arians was deserving but it's complete BS to leave Pagano with nothing. He deserves credit too. _________________ GO SEAHAWKS GO!

They're overrated & not making the Playoffs next season.
8-8 or 9-7 best for Seattle. (& No Playoffs) |

WOOHOO! Big ups Arizona has the coach of the year! In the same division as pete and john I can't tell you how much of an honor it is to have the COTY on our team!!!! What he did with Larry this year was amazing, and the mentoring of Kevin Kolb...not to mention what he did with our D, im just in shock we did not make the playoffs _________________

Should have been Mike Smith. Falcons least penalized team by a huge margin. Such a good team at situational football move. Great changes to the staff adding Koetter, Nolan, and Hill. Nice attention to detail with that team. _________________

It's hard to argue - taking a terrible team with over half the roster getting churned and leading them to a 9-3 record. Several other good candidates, like Mike Smith, but I can't blame them for going with Arians. _________________

I feel like Arians and Pagano should have been co coaches of the year. _________________

I'll add onto that (and yes, I'll be that guy): How much of this is Arians receiving votes because of his coaching prowess and how much of it is because the voters (media and the like) saw voting for him as the easiest way to vote for Chuck Pagano as the "feel good candidate". If that was the case, and I don't have an issue with people wanting to vote for a feel good candidate if they want, then just vote Pagano as COTY. _________________

And there's this as well. Personal opinion, but I feel like Coach of the Year should get the award based upon his actual impact on the team, not just because the team succeeded when people thought they should have failed. _________________
