Surprising move here, I think: Giants cut LB Michael Boley today.

Boley has been a starter for the Giants the past 4 seasons, he is a solid cover LB that recorded career high 3 INTs in 2012 but was entering the final year of his contract and this moves saves the Giants about 5 million dollars.

Surprised. I heard that he could get cut but not this early. Overall he has been good. I remember last year before his hamstring injury he was our best LB and was playing at a pro bowl level.Other than that stretch he has been solid our best LB although thats not saying much.

I'm not surprised by this at all. He was set to make something like 5.9 this year and the Giants save 4.25 by cutting him.

It was almost inevitable especially with the way he was being held back towards the end of this year. He was definitely one of the guys I didn't expect back.

Interesting, he always seemed to be making big plays when I saw him.

Was bad last year and making 4.5 million. Last year of his contract and we're over the cap.

It's weird cause I was actually just reading this article today about Boley which explains pretty much the whole situation.

Not surprising. The Giants drastically slashed his playing time the final quarter of the season. The coaching staff didn't like something.

The LB corp needs change. Hopefully the Giants are proactive about it this offseason, finally.

Is Boley decent in coverage? If so, if I were the Vikings id take a chance on him at WLB. Erin Henderson is a free agent and I have no interest in bringing him back.

Last year before chase blackburn was resigned he was our starting MLB but then he moved to OLB. And has been there ever since.

Laughing You'd have a better chance at having your groundskeeper put potholes at strategic locations on the field than having Boley in coverage.

Boley was basically a crappy opportunist last year. Actually glad to see him gone.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.
