I really like this move. I've always liked Dixon and didn't think he got a fair crack in Pittsburgh. Glad to see Kelly being loyal and recognizing talent in his former players.

Funny how people are over reacting to this signing as though he is destined to be the 2013 Starter. It's a PS acquisition that is familiar with Chip Kelly and his style of coaching. Does not in any way shape or form guarantee Dixon anything , even a spot on the 53 man roster. Most likely both Trent Edwards and Mike Vick are let go. Bringing in numbers at QB is a must. Doubt he makes much of a impact if any outside a athletic #3.

Its a decent signing.

People are just being narrow minded.

Obviously, the Oregon tie is there.

But he got the most out of Dennis Dixon and knows how to use him. I even said if he went to the right team, he could be a decent backup. He wasnt terrible with the Steelers as general, just a terrible fit for Arians system. He didnt utilized Dixon's athleticism at all and forced him to play Ben's gameplan.

However...if this tells me anything, it is that Kelly is most likely going to run an offensive system that needs a mobile QB....which likely means Foles is on the outside looking in, Vick will stay on and Kelly will look for Vick's future replacement. (This is just blind speculation based on the signing...Im not claiming thats definite)

I always thought Dennis Dixon was pretty underrated overall. He was always a pretty good passer for a player with the level of athleticism he has. Don't think he should start right away, unless he really earns it in training camp.

It would be a good signing. The only qb on our roster right now who I see being on our team next season is Foles. Expect us to draft a guy as well.

He's still the best QB Chip has produced and was on his way to an easy Heisman victory until he tore his ACL. He ran that offense to absolute perfection. If he works his butt off then I could see him challenging for the starting spot.
