I'm sure this has been pointed out, but this move in my mind solidifies that Michael Vick will be the starting QB for Chip Kelly's offense, and rightfully so.
It doesn't make much sense to have a pocket passing QB and 2 mobile backups (or if they part ways with Vick, one mobile backup). Just doesn't work for the scheme.
However I like this move for them, Dennis Dixon has always been one of the players I liked watching with Pittsburgh. _________________

That was a tragic day indeed. _________________

That's how I do it in Madden though. If my backup can't throw, at least he can get out of trouble with his feet! _________________

Chip is on record saying he will change his scheme to benefit whoever his players are on the field. So if our pocket passer got hurt, the backup would run different plays.
Plus no guarantee dixon even makes our team. _________________

I like it, he's a good back-up who's proven he can come in and win spot starts if he's asked too.
He's depth, and you always need depth. Besides considering Vick and Edwards, or at least Edwards, are most likely gone they need to bring in some guys to push for depth. _________________

No real surprise to me. Dixon played very well in his offense. _________________

I like Dixon as well. That said I hope the Eagles didn't sign him to be their starting QB. _________________ Mmmm...Sacrelicious! |

Good depth signing by the Eagles. Dixon has experience being coached under Kelly and that's a plus. I think Vick is going to end up staying and Foles will be the one looking for a new home. Foles has shown some flashes of being a decent QB and the Eagles can at least get a draft pick for him. _________________

Yeah there's no way a new head coach would just take a qb off a practice squad in hopes of him being a starting QB. _________________

| What does the Eagles fan base think of Foles? With the way he played I'd assume he'd warrant a 3rd round pick. I just don't see him fitting in with Chip's offense and Dixon looked pretty good with the Steelers in his short stint as starter. Trading Foles to draft some help in the secondary, o-line, or linebacker spot seems ideal, IMO. |

I thought the Practice Squad was for players with less than 3 years of expierence?
Dixon is a 5 year vet. How could he have been on the PS? _________________

Dixon only played 4 career games, you have to play 8 games in a regular season to be ineligible for the practice squad. _________________
