| Vick is only getting that 10 million if he wins the Super Bowl. That's how these incentives work. You need pro bowls, mvps, and super bowl victories to get ALL the incentives. |

And he's still better than Ponder. |
No he is not |
It is no question Vick is a better passer. Vick's worse year with the Eagles (this past season) his quarterback rating was right on par with Ponder's.
Ponder is brutal. He reads a defense about as well as Vick, has a noodle arm comparatively and is just all around not a very good passer. If you take Ponder over Vick you're crazy (age not being a factor in this instance).
I'm happy with this re-signing I think Vick in a dumbed down offense will be a tremendous asset.
People forget he ran a lot of zone-read in his days with Atlanta. I'm not sure how people think he is incapable of reading a DE. _________________

More than was previously - but less than it would cost long term to cut him I believe....no official numbers yet though. _________________

They can't even cut him TBH...so you take a 3 million dollar hit, plus isn't the new 89% rule in effect? You'd have to replace his money with a FA making as much as him....You don't have that money on the bench, either. Unless you have Kaepernick starting. Vick is the starter next year _________________

So... Dennis Dixon won't be competing for the starting job, then? I kind of expected a 3-way competition. _________________ With much cheese,

And if he is, I highly doubt he'll win the job. But I guess you never know. _________________

It looks bad right now but you never know how these things can go. Everyone thought harbaugh was a fool for sticking with Alex smith...
Eagles should still draft a rookie to develop (or maybe foles is that guy). But maybe a new system and coaching can maximize Vick's skills and strengths. _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |
