Terrell Thomas @TerrellThomas24 #NYG http://instagr.am/p/VmhBrJMDIL/
Ralph Vacchiano @RVacchianoNYDN
| Quote: | | Stay tuned for details of the T2 deal. It appears to be for one year. Obviously it helps the Giants avoid the $6M bonus he was due. |

Likely moving to safety:
| Quote: | Tom Rock @TomRock_Newsday
Jerry Reese hinted that Terrell Thomas' future may be at safety and not cb after knee surgeries. Would make sense. |

TT was easily the Giants best CB for several years prior to ACL injuries - not sure what he's got left in him _________________

This doesn't bold well on a Kenny Phillips re-signing I'm guessing. _________________ 44 and 21 Once a Giant, always a Giant

Several years? He only played 3 years before getting hurt and was drafted in 08. _________________ 44 and 21 Once a Giant, always a Giant

It is a possibility that he could move to safety but Coughlin and Reese still envision him at cornerback.
But of course that can depend on how the Kenny Phillips situation pans out. _________________

“(The Giants) said, ‘We envision you coming back to play corner. If you can play corner, that’s great. But if not, maybe there’s a nickel safety role,’ ” Thomas said. “ ‘Either way, we just want you on the field.’”

Strongly doubt that it works out at CB honestly. Might be a good safety though. _________________

He was our best corner 1 year. Corey has been our best CB for a while even though he had a horrid year last year. _________________

Here are the details of Thomas' new contract:
| Quote: | Excerpt: "Thomas' base salary is $630,000, the minimum for his experience level, which also includes a split of $358,000, i.e. a lesser value to be earned if he lands on injured reserve for a third straight year. Thomas received a $35,000 signing bonus and has a $35,000 workout bonus, and he can earn up to $500,000 in playing-time incentives -- though it's unclear what the triggers are for that money.
To summarize: Thomas signed a one-year deal worth $700,000, with a max value of $1.2 million and just $35,000 guaranteed. His cap number is slightly higher, due to prorated bonuses from the contract he signed last year. |

| Didn't the Giants defense really excel when they had 3 safties playing at times? I could see him being used as that 3rd safety/nickel role. |

I think he's done, but not a bad signing if he's not. _________________

Don't care what position he plays - I just want to see him get on the field.
I'm not setting my hopes that high for a strong return by him (how can you after 3 torn ACLs), but if he actually sees the field then it would provide a nice boost to our secondary if he can grt back to form. |

Giants love the 3 safety look. Even if we don't get KP back though, we already have a great set of 3 safeties in Antrel Rolle, Stevie Brown, and Will Hill.
I'm not sure where TT will play. Last year, we were all excited for him to play the joker role that Fewell has in his defense. Obviously that didn't happen. If he can regain form, he could be a great boost to the secondary, playing everywhere. That's a big if though. _________________
