Not shocked really. He was getting, what, 15 million? And he is old and injury prone. Had a great time with them, won a ring, should have retired a Packer IMO. _________________

The 8 time Pro-Bowler and 7 time All-Pro was named defensive player of the year while with the Packers in 2009, he was brilliant during his time with the Packers, recording 38 INTs and 11.5 sacks and 15 FF's.
He should be able to find another team that will allow him to play FS or slot CB. | That's unexpected. NE should pick him and Reed up. _________________ Kam Chancellor-2012/2013 Season - 100 tackles - 1 FF - 2 FR - 0 INT

He didn't provide his thoughts on it in the OP. _________________

Not really surprising.

I get that, but you can see my confusion. When i clicked in the News forum, the second post didn't exist. First post is locked without an explanation.
It's all cleared up now though.
Thanks to the 47 people that responded, haha. _________________

Probably because a mod couldn't wait a couple of minutes for me to add my comment on the thread, got locked while i was editing. |
I'll be on record saying I'm okay with it.
Billy - you bring us the news and we'll discuss it. We might let you discuss it a bit...but mostly you should be scouring the internets for more news. It doesn't bother me one bit if the OP doesn't add insight for a news story. I know rules are rules and I don't want to rock the dictatorship boat but it seems me that there could be different rules for the "NFL News" forum considering the nature of the beast.
Anyway - Woodson is a heck of talent and unless he decides he'd rather retire than wear another jersey I can see him playing next year. I know they tried him at safety but I stopped paying attention and don't know how well that worked out. Just seems to me like the kind of guy a playoff contender could use. _________________ GO SEAHAWKS GO!

They're overrated & not making the Playoffs next season.
8-8 or 9-7 best for Seattle. (& No Playoffs) |

Can we just give Billy Spikes special rules!!?? I mean really...this dude is like Chris Mortenson, haha, straight breaking stories on here!!
Anyway though, Woodson is pretty done, low key, I think a cool move would be for the Raiders to bring him back. Would be a very good vet and played when the Raiders were good.
If he goes back he could be one of the last great Raiders from the Al Davis era. _________________

It was going to be very hard to re-structure that contract, I could see us making a play for him on a 1 year deal if he isn't too hurt by being dropped from that current deal. Fact is, he's only worth a little over league min now, I don't know if he'll settle for that anywhere. _________________
