Great player, great leader. One of my favourite players, loved seeing him make tackles on runningbacks in the open field.
Hope he re-signs with the team, wish him all the best regardless.

Great player for the Vikings scheme, but I think he would get torn apart playing as an outside CB in man. Winfield needs to go to a zone scheme and play the slot. He had a great season no doubt, but his numbers are generally skewed to favor him since he was mostly put in favorable matchups on the inside.
He will be a fantastic slot CB, but i wouldnt expect anything more.

And Chris Cook, when healthy. He spends more time on the outside than Winfield.
I would expect the Vikings to either move Josh Robinson to slot and draft/sign an outside CB, or keep Robinson outside and sign a slot CB.

According to NFL sources, there have been discussions between Antoine Winfield's agent, Ashanti Webb, and the Vikings about bringing him back. Winfield, 35, has gotten over the initial shock of the decision and apparently is willing to listen. But the 14-year veteran has multiple visits lined up with other NFL teams and it's unclear how much money the Vikings are willing to put on the table for a player they just let go. Exiting a coaches meeting on Sunday afternoon at the NFL meetings in the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, coach Leslie Frazier said he has spoken with Winfield since the veteran cornerback's surprise release on Tuesday and neither side is ruling out a reunion.
Frazier: "I'm hoping that we can figure out a way to get him back here. So, I'm hoping that it's not goodbye yet. Him and I talked a few days ago, before I came up here, and I don't want the door to be shut. So, we're going to still try to get something worked out -- if he's amicable to coming back."

I am curious to this as well. Havent heard anything. I know Washington expressed interest.
It might just be a smokescreen by Winfield/agent.
