Filed to ESPN: Broncos in serious talks, trying to hammer out an agreement with Patriots WR Wes Welker. Decision expected today.

The main card that the Patriots have over Welker is Tom Brady... the Broncos have close to the same level of a QB in Peyton Manning which could be enough to draw the slot machine away from New England.

The Patriots reportedly made a low offer to Wes Welker, low enough to make Welker shutdown talks with the Patriots since yesterday.

Solid pickup for the Broncos. Smart to go all out giving Manning weapons. Window is now for them.

As a Jets fan, this makes me happy. But the Patriots are probably going to get Amendola now, who's probably better at this point anyway.

honestly...it would actually be a great fit. I wasnt sure if they had the cap room, but that would be an excellent signing.

And i think Welker could still put up quality numbers with Peyton throwing him the ball.

Makes sense. After Manning retires a lot of cap room will open up to re-build the team. Might as well go all in now...

Brady must hate him now.

Two dropped catches in consecutive years to deny him a ring (maybe two)...

And now he could bail to Peyton Manning Laughing
