Yeah, I'm the idiot for thinking that an above average CB in Greer is better than the guy that was statistically the worst in the NFL last season. |
Patrick Robinson is the definition of a man to man CB. Putting him in a zone was bound to end poorly. He certainly has the talent to be better than Greer, and its not crazy to say he's better than him. He gave up tons of yards but he also made big plays, something Greer certainly doesn't offer.
Regardless, Lewis and Robinson should form a pretty good CB duo and Greer and White will offer some nice depth. We might actually have a competent defense next year. _________________

Greer? Top 10? |
Before last certain he was definitely in the conversation...Guy was very good for New Orleans before last year. I mean, I agree that Patrick Robinson will likely be better next year, and was better last year IMO but before that Greer was a stud. _________________

Thank you for having some sense, Harp. _________________

This might be a bit of "tin foil" speculation, but it's worth remembering that Keenan Lewis is Mike Wallace's best friend. If there was discord in the locker room last season, then maybe Lewis was responsible to some degree. We'll never know, but it does make you wonder, especially since the Steelers had more than enough room under the salary cap to give him a nice deal, and they were never mentioned in the bidding war for him. _________________

Yup. They said it was the Browns, Colts, Saints, & Lions.
We had the lowest deal. He just took the hometown discount. _________________

Sour Grapes would be pretending all the good things he did for us never happened. It also would have been not acknowledging that it was cool of him to take a hometown discount... Yet you point out the sole negative because I do in fact have a right as a fan to feel scorned he left... Only in Nawlins.. _________________

The only time I disliked you guys was during the 2009 Super Bowl run...
I just wanted to be able to say "Nawlins" and typing it meant I had to read it in my head/out loud. _________________

Yes, because one good...not great....season in a contract year after 3 mediocre ones makes him worth being paid as a top 10 corner.
As I said earlier, its a good signing, and he couldve likely gotten more, but he got about as much as he deserves at this point. _________________

$5m is a solid deal for him. $7m was what I expected, since I see him as a younger Ike Taylor
also, $8m+/season is top 10 for CBs. _________________
