How often do you see someone blow through the snapper and block a kick anyway? It's not really going to change much in terms of on field performance, so I'm ok with it.
The tuck rule should have never existed in the first place. |

I was a long snapper for a long time and I can't tell you how happy this makes me. It's not easy launching the ball between your legs to a punter standing 15 yards behind you. You need a ton of momentum and that leaves your head down and your arms between your legs so it's not easy to get back into a position where you can defend yourself. The two "guards" are usually responsible for protecting the LS but defensemen always get cheap shots in. _________________ GO SEAHAWKS GO!

Bye bye power running, we'll miss you. |
Yeah seriously this would just ruin the game.
With this new rule, it makes the RB position useless and a defenders job insanely hard.
I pray this rule never goes into effect. I actually like Adrian Peterson and our defense. _________________

I just don't understand how pretty much forcing a RB to run upright resembles anything close to safety for players. _________________ “Most of the luxuries and many of the so-called comforts of life are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.”

Whelp, they just made power running illegal.
This is where the NFL takes it's biggest step to making sure teams NEVER run. And this just becomes arena football.
Biggest joke ever. This neuters every power runner. _________________

Well, I'm glad I got to watch football in it's glory days of the 80's and 90's and 2000's. At least I got to witness some great power backs in my football watching life. _________________

I get that overreactions are fun but instead of complaining, look into what the actual rule is. You'll realize how over-dramatic you're being. _________________

What the hell, NFL.
I want to see plays like this.
What power, what determination doooh.
Not fails like this.
Although, it is Chancellor, can't really blame the poor Cowboy.
Either way, the rule change is ridiculous and dumb. Takes away more of the game. _________________ Kam Chancellor-2012/2013 Season - 100 tackles - 1 FF - 2 FR - 0 INT

Hard to tell, but it doesn't look like he uses the crown of his helmet there.
That's why these overreactions are absurd, it's not "forcing RBs to run upright", you can lower your shoulder, you and duck your head, you just can't use the CROWN of your helmet to deliver a blow to a defender, which isn't something you see often anyway. Something that occurs probably not even once a game is not going to destroy power running games, or have any big impact on anything. _________________
