I guess he'll be the 4 behind Randle? _________________

True. I think Schefter reported both teams with two first rounders didn't make an offer. Those were the most logical destinations. I guess a dark horse could always scoop him up. _________________

He likely dropped the contract while signing it.
I always liked Murph. Flashed as a rookie but his hands were just never that good.
Traded him to the Panthers for a 7th and he didn't show much in Carolina. Maybe Eli and company can get something out of him. _________________

Randle is going to be a pro bowler in a year or 2, they are better off just letting either Cruz or Nicks walk. _________________ A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. best place for receivers to go is where the coughlin resides. should make a decent #4 behind the stacked depth chart consisting of hakeem nicks, rueben randle, and victor cruz. |

Good Ramses Barden replacement. Murphy has some intriguing athletic abilities but has never put it together. Good signing. _________________

He'll be Ramses Barden's replacement and compete with Jerrel Jernigan for the 4th spot. The Giants will likely lose Hixon too so it makes sense as far as depth goes. |

His hands are horrific. If it is contested, Murphy will drop it. _________________

Hopefully he stays on the special teams unit at least. I mean if he couldn't do anything on the panthers ... Then again not sure if hes replacing Hixon or Barden at this point. |

He was frustrating while here. He has solid measurables. Looked great running routes on the field. He would get separation. But just couldnt ever make the play. I mean, ever. If it was contested, he wouldnt come down with it. If it was uncontested he would drop it.
Just really frustrating. I thought we might have landed a gem. But as the season wore on it was clear whatever rust he showed was permanent. _________________

Meh, I am of the opinion that you just never know with WRs. He may do better in NY.
With everything I said I still wouldnt have minded keeping him around another year to see if he could pull it together. _________________

I think a big part of his struggles had to do with us not using him too much. It seemed like he'd drop an easy pass and then not be targeted for the next 2 games. Its hard to build confidence as a receiver when you're constantly getting into the drops doghouse. |
