That last report is talking about surgery against infection that we won't know if is needed for weeks from now, which is not the same thing as what you posted via rotoworld, a procedure to change the plate in Gronk's arm.

The real news will be if Gronk needs a fifth surgery to fight off the infection in case it doesn't clear out, that would be very interesting.

Other than the original report, no update considered Gronk to have a chance to miss week 1.

We will only know when a real update comes about his infection, we won't know that for at least a couple of weeks.

Got it. The way the PFT source had it worded made it sound like surgery was altogether avoidable.

And that's the only reason I was questioning your title.

When I see your title says he could miss week 1, I have reason to believe there is a good chance he could miss week 1, not some single outlier of a report. So when I see a report that conflicts with your title (The one that said he almost certainly won't miss week 1) I have no reason to think this isn't "old news" for you.

Yeah, as i said that's the title that was there from the start of the thread because of the original report, i keep all the updates i post [in every thread i make by the way] in the OP so people will see the updates.

But I'll change the title now to prevent confusion.

***Update***
Quote:
More possible bad news for Rob Gronkowski. A disc issue in his back is being examined and could require surgery:

On Gronk: Had heard he's battling "chronic" back pain and the Patriots were looking into it. This developments explains it.

Rob Gronkowski's back issue considered minor, per source. If he needs surgery it'd be during time frame that he'd be out with arm surgery.

As @MikeGarafolo first reported, Rob Gronkowski has back issue. One NFL source said issue is minor. Another said slightly more.

And Gronk is one of my keepers in FF. Ugh, looks like I may need to draft a TE earlier than I wanted, just in case Gronk misses more time.

I've said it once , and I'll say it again:

I wish Gronk was on another team so I could actually like him.

I don't think I could like him on any team...unless he was on the Rams. I respect him and his game though.

I start feeling better about the Pats swooping in and taking him one pick before ours... then I remember the guy we took had his career end before his first training camp because of a flight of stairs.
