I think he should be in the HOF because he was in the nfl for about 22 years and he set so many nfl kicking records. He is the best kicker to play the game.

This isn't news. Maybe post this in General.

Given who is let into the HOF, it is hard for a kicker. Should he be? sure but so should other kickers. And what would the criteria be for a kicker?

This goes the same for Dawson

Both great kickers that spent their careers with teams that were always bad and thus didn't get a ton of recognition.

If more ST guys got in, than I would say yes.

No. Unless you are the hands down best kicker to ever play you have no business in the Hall of Fame.

I don't think any kicker is ever going to get in but I do think that some K/P should be in the Hall of Fame.

Not before Ray Guy, no. And imo, neither one of them will ever get in.

No. Just playing a super long time shouldn't be enough to warrant getting you in. He was a great kicker for a long time, but was not one of the best of all time. The records he set were mainly for bulk stats, which goes hand in hand with how long he played.

As much as i loved Hanson, and appreciated how good and consistent he was over the course of his career, I think one of the requirements for any kicker getting into the HOF would be high pressure/big moment kicks. And that's just to even start a discussion. I think Vinatieri will get more HOF love because of his kicks than hanson will even though he had the better overall career. Unfortunately, Hanson just didn't play on some very good teams for about a decade, and never really had a chance to prove himself in these situations.

Until kickers become a more viable hall of fame choice, I would have to say no. I do consider him to be one of the better kickers to have played though.

What kicker would fall under your criteria of domination for kickers?

I don't think there are any dominant kickers.
