Dansby has only visited the Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills. The perception is that he's yet to sign because teams no longer view him as a solid starter at age 31. That, however, is not the case.

Dansby revealed to Arizona Sports 620's John Gambadoro that he has received interest from other clubs, including the New York Jets, Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons.

The Jets are probably just offering him a cheap deal to be a back-up. I doubt we are serious contenders for his services.

Really hope he signs with the Bengals. Don't want to see another season of Maualuga failing at MLB... Crying or Very sad

I may be in the minority here, but I'd actually like to see the Jets sign him, as long as it's a somewhat reasonable deal.

My logic: First, there is little depth at LB, with Harris and Davis being the only starting quality pure LBs. The rest are career backups like Josh Mauga and Nick Bellore or (mediocre) OLB/DE hybrids. We could use some veteran insurance in case of injury (or if Davis isn't what the team thinks he is), especially someone who is solid against the run and pass (9 PDs last year) with Gronkowski, Hernandez and Keller in the division.

Furthermore, considering the drafting of Sheldon Richardson, one could assume the Jets will run more 4 man fronts this season. If (and this is a big if, with Rex being so creative with his personnel packages) they intend to get pass rush from the DL and field 3 LBs with traditional LB responsibilities, I don't see the 3rd starter to pair with Harris/Davis.

Calvin Pace is old and slow.

Garrett McIntyre, Nick Bellore and Josh Mauga all suck and Ricky Sapp is a total unknown aside from his injury history.

Antwan Barnes is a solid player, but seems like a pretty pure pass rusher.

The rest of the guys on the roster are scrubs like JoJo Dickson (who?) and Danny Lansanah (again, who?).

Thusly: Karlos!

He'd be a great pickup for any one of those teams. The most disappointing thing about this off-season for me was letting Dansby go. Even with Ellerbe, would've liked to keep him and try him (or Ellerbe) out at OLB. He's been an extremely productive LB for us, but never quite lived up to the contract we gave him.

How this guy still doesn't have a job is beyond me. Dansby is still a top 15 ILB in this league.

How? simple:

He wants *this* amount of money.

Teams want to pay *this* amount of money.

Probably this. Dansby is coming off a huge contract in Miami, and probably over-values himself at the moment.

To add to this, teams that were needing Linebackers were probably waiting on veteran guys with mid-to-high price-tags like Dansby until after the draft. Now that teams know what their needs are, they're going for experienced veterans at positions of need. Another reason he may be on the market is because he wasn't released until after free agency started, which means he was never really on the radar for teams' long-term plans going into the offseason.

Kind of suprised, theres no reported interest from the Vikings.
LB is our main hole.

We got Greenway + Henderson likely maning 2 LB positions, but that 3rd one is completely up in the air.

More to my point is how does a guy like Eric Walden get $16 million on the first day of FA but Dansby can't find a team? Unless his asking price is outrageous, no reason for him to be unemployed this long.

How? simple:

He wants *this* number of years.

Teams want to pay *this* number of years.

NFL teams don't like 30+ year old players, Walden is 27 and Dansby is 31, it could factor in... also obviously everyone believe that Walden was over-paid.

From what I read Dansby is being "picky". Probably drumming up as much interest as possible to get the best contract offer...
