Seems way over the top....

http://tracking.si.com/2013/06/13/nfl-new-stadium-bag-policy/?sct=hp_t2_a8&eref=sihp

Beginning with the 2013 preseason, the new rules will also include:

Bags must be clear and made of plastic, vinyl, or PVC, with dimensions not exceeding 12 inches by six inches by 12 inches.
Fans are limited to one bag per person.
Spectators may not bring in backpacks, fanny packs, seat cushions or coolers.
Small “clutch” bags will be allowed.
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after they’ve been inspected at a gate designated for this purpose.

None of those rules are particularily ardous. I don't agree with the "Clear" part, but the size restrictions, the one bag per person, no coolers/backpacks are all fine.

Most of those rules are already in place in many sports stadia around the world.

Everything seems about right. But clear bags, that is over the top.

Then again, I am not one to bring bags where I go so I couldnt care less.

The rules seem way over the top to me, but I live in Japan and I can bring my own beer into stadiums Laughing

But it would put families off I imagine. If you have kids of a certain age, you would need to bring quite a bit of stuff.

No seat cushions is ridiculous as well.

I understand if some of these things are blocking the view for people sitting behind them but to ban them entirely is asinine.

I thought the NFL wanted to widen its audience? Women probably won't enjoy this....

Just another reason to watch the games at home.

The little bag things that women carry around. Can be held in their hands, usually don't have a handle.

This is a response to what happened at the Boston Marathon, not because it blocks people's view.

I was thinking more of dimensions, so I guess I could have worded that a bit differently.
