Rehabbing Santonio Holmes not sure if he'll play this season

Six weeks ago, Santonio Holmes wouldn't commit to being ready by Week 1. Now the Jets' No. 1 receiver won't even say whether he'll play this season.

Holmes, who underwent foot surgeries in December and February, understandably tried to err on the side of caution Friday. But his noncommittal responses to questions about his rehab raised doubts about his recovery timetable and its impact on the Jets' receiving corps.

"I can't answer that right now," he said, adding that the Jets' doctors aren't sure if he'll return this season.

As much of an head case that Holmes is, the Jets need him this season if they plan on going anywhere. Holmes was limited to 4 games last season after suffering a Lisfranc injury against the 49ers.

Good. All the attitude of TO without 1/10th the talent. The more he's away the better.

I think he is being a bit dramatic. I don't doubt he will miss some games in the beginning of the season, but he should be able to return at some point.

I'd rather have TO at least he showed up on the field. TO had the production and work ethic to back up his attitude .... and TO's attitude issues are overblown anyway I feel Santonio has an even worse attitude the sooner the Jets can be rid of him and his bloated contract the better

Hope Braylon "Dougie" Edwards and Stephen Hill show up, Kerley should still be good the Jets would have enough receivers to get through the season. I don't think santonio misses the whole season possible 4-6 games at the start

I think someone is holding off coming back healthy in hopes of getting an injury settlement...

I just feel like he's yet another diva WR. Seems like Geno, Kerley, and Hill will be able to work on their chemistry earlier than expected.
