Did not see this coming. I'm glad Trent Baalke is able to swallow his pride like this and admit he made a mistake. If Jenkins wasn't good enough to make the team, I don't want him getting a spot simply because of his draft status

Not really expecting Baldwin to make the team though

Really? Who do you expect to be our 5 WRs to start the year? It's not like we've seen anyone in preseason step up to earn a spot....

Boldin
Kdub
Patton

....Collie, Marlon Moore, Osgood, Lockette, Hall, Jacobs?

Really. I don't think he's that good.

The 3 you mentioned plus Moore will make the team no doubt imo, while the rest compete for the last 1 or 2 spots. Of course he could prove me wrong and make the team. I'm probably biased though as I've never thought highly of him as a player

OK, second worst.

Id put Lawrence Phillip up there. He had scant production considering the negatives he brought with him. He ran for 1400 or so career yards but was arrested multiple times for assaulting women, spent several weeks in jail, was suspended multiple times, refused to practice at times, mocked coaches in practices, quit the Rams when he was demoted to backup RB, and wiffed the block that ended Steve Young's career. He even quit an AFL team after signing a contract and never reporting to a practice. He fell further after burning out of football and is serving a 31 year sentence in Cali now. That's the complete opposite of production if I ever saw it...

Plus wont they have to cut a WR after week 6 when Manningham comes off PUP?

I don't think Baldwin has the time to even get himself on a level playing field with the rest of the WRs mentally...

Any word from Baldwin yet? AJJ tweeted about the trade, thanking the 49ers coaches/organization for the opportunity and expressing his excitement to get to work in KC. Seemed pretty mature and positive about it.

Baldwin stopped using (and later deleted) his Twitter right around the same time he got into a fight with Thomas Jones. And he hasn't been interviewed that I've seen.

Nah, Jenkins is worse. Jenkins played a year and still didn't do anything.

A bit pre-mature, they've only drafted Ronald Johnson (6th rounder), AJ Jenkins, and Quinton Patton. One being a rookie, who's yet to see the field.

And Patton is going to be a good one IMO. The 49ers brass really did draft a terrible player with that 1st rounder but it happens to the best of em.

I actually really liked AJ Jenkins coming out...but at a 3rd-4th rounder. I was utterly shocked he went in the first.

I think he's saying how he's a better predictor for WRs turning out. I know he was a big fan of TY Hilton and his man crush this year was Wheaton.

In that case, I stand corrected! Ty Hilton defo is a nice, young WR. Let's see what kind of rookie year the Wheaton kid has, hopefully more of an impact than Jenkins had for us smh
