I still cant believe we got a first for him.

If his name was not Trent Richardson there is no way we got even a 4th rounder for a player that does what he does.

It was even dumber to use a 3rd overall pick plus extra picks to draft him in the first place.

I think the Browns win the trade long term, absolutely, but it doesnt excuse the fact that you wasted a premium pick on him to begin with.

Im not really blaming the regime....just saying that they still lost out on drafting a premium player by taking Richardson that high (or possibly trading down for multiple picks), and even though they got a first round pick, it will likely be an early 20s pick at best....so while they are getting solid value back, they still lost alot by drafting him that high in the first place.

But AGAIN...I think the Browns will win this trade long term.

It was humorous listening to Gruden ramble about how much he loves that the Colts still have power running yet minutes later say "isn't letting Luck just sit back there and throw it when the colts look their best?".

POwer running is dead.

Not for seattle. Richardson just isn't a great back. Average at best.

I'm not sure why so many people felt that Indy not throwing enough was what let them down last night. Here are their failed 3rd-down conversions plus the two plays preceding them, before they switched to only passing in the fourth quarter:

T. Richardson rushed to the left for 4 yard gain
A. Luck rushed to the left for 2 yard gain
A. Luck incomplete pass to the right

T. Richardson rushed up the middle for 1 yard gain
A. Luck passed to R. Wayne to the right for 3 yard gain
A. Luck passed to C. Fleener to the left for 3 yard gain

A. Luck incomplete pass down the middle
A. Luck passed to C. Fleener to the right for 9 yard gain
A. Luck incomplete pass to the left

T. Richardson rushed up the middle for 2 yard gain
A. Luck incomplete pass to the right
A. Luck incomplete pass to the left

A. Luck incomplete pass down the middle
A. Luck rushed to the left for 6 yard gain
A. Luck incomplete pass to the right

A. Luck rushed up the middle for 6 yard gain
T. Richardson rushed to the left for 1 yard gain
A. Luck incomplete pass to the right

That's a total of 4 rushes not by Luck (I'm assuming Luck's runs were scrambles following called passes) and 20 passes. The running game was quite decent overall, and they were throwing much more than running even before the fourth quarter; it's not like they were getting stopped on runs on 1st and 2nd down and ending up with 3rd-and-long. Criticize the protection, the passing play calls, the overthrows or the dropped passes if you want, but I don't see how the running game is failing the Colts right now.

Tell that to Marshawn Lynch, Freddy Jackson, Ryan Matthews, Knowshon Moreno, Frank Gore, Doug Martin, etc etc.

Oh yeah and there's this one guy, up in Minnesota. Adrian something.

He's a pretty good (*cough*HoF*cough*) power back.

I hear what you are saying but I think it was the colts that we're dumber. They got to see a year of him as a pro and still traded a first for him.

Browns took a risk on someone most thought would be a stud franchise back

It's a case of dumb and dumber and I guess an argument can be made either way for who was dumber

He meant power running, as in a "Power Running Game" not a power back.

It is all that matters but you also as a franchise need to focus on the future and trading a first for a RB who is a possible bust was not a promising move.

Did making the Richardson move result in this win? No I doubt it. I was a fan of the move at first but...

I'm on the fence with Richardson because it is a short period of time to judge a player as a bust but the Colts returns haven't been too promising. Only 22 years old and he is adjusting to a new team and scheme but 75 car for 228 yds (3.04 ypc) isn't too promising. Not too mention no receiving abilities shown so far, poor blocking, and a fumble.
