I wouldn't be so sure.

Depending on the severity of the injury (ie. ligament damage) he may require surgery right away and be required to not subject his thumb to any type of activity where he could potentially re-injure it.

He'll play through it, he's a beast.

The same injury really hindered Von Miller's pass rushing ability late in his rookie year. Hard for pass rushers to to play one handed.
