We're told ... when Adrian was first informed about the matter, he didn't question the possibility he was the dad -- but rather asked how he could help the situation.

Sources tell us ... a few weeks ago, A.P. started to plan a trip to South Dakota to meet the child for the first time and he was supposed to fly out later this month.

But when he heard the news about the attack on the 2-year-old, Peterson dropped everything and jetted over to Sioux Falls as soon as he could.

We're told Adrian met the child for the first time while the boy was on life support.

Multiple sources tell us ... Adrian has been very involved since the tragedy and was the one pushing the have the child's organs donated to other people in need of a transplant.

Wow...

God be with his young soul, gone too soon and taken too tragically.

The entire NFL world and fanbase is with you today and tomorrow Purple Jesus.

God man. This is just... The world is a messed up place sometimes.

Damn man.....

Say what you will. But AP is...

That's a GREAT man. Can't help but break your heart just a little more knowing that.

That's Adrian Peterson Jr., not the child that was involved in this incident.

Surprised he is playing, regardless of my fantasy football aspirations of a win, I want AP to have the game of his career right here. RIP baby Peterson

Adrian has had it rough in his family. If I remember correctly, two of his brothers have died and his dad is in prison.

Things like this kinda bring you back to the realization that these guys may be making millions of dollars, but that money doesn't fix everything and there can be some real horrible stories out there.

His dad was in prison back when Peterson was in highschool and college. His older brother was killed by a drunk driver while he was riding his bike. Adrian was 7 then. His younger brother was shot and killed in Houston the night before the NFL combine.

He has faced so much adversity in his life and overcame it all. So much respect for the guy. The world would be an incredible place if there were more people like AP.

They included the Bills twice.

Probably just a mistake.

wow... I'm sure they put the Bills twice and not the Jags just to make Jags fans mad, and make some kind of statement. Rolling Eyes
