As I've been saying for weeks, when he gets fired the Patriots should offer him a job. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em Rex Laughing

I was about 50/50 on this, so it doesn't surprise me. It won't be very long at all after he's fired that he finds a defensive coordinator gig... just hope it isn't with the Patriots.

Do people think Rex could fetch another HC gig, or is he more likely to get a DC job?

Big mistake. They also fired Mangini too early. Rex deserves one more year after signing a WR and drafting one 1st round. If him and Geno can't hack it with weapons then they get the boot.

I think he is just trolling his team to play harder.

I think it's more likely he'll be a DC somewhere next year. But I could definitely see him getting another HC gig in a couple years if he coaches a top defense (which I'd fully expect). Of course, the largest concern with Rex as a HC is his inability to develop a decent offense...

I don't know if I'd call it trolling, but he's definitely doing this for a reason.

Its a bad move in my eyes, and depending on how many jobs are available I could see him getting hired as a HC immediately.

So, just to clarify - do you believe Rex Ryan "lied" to his team and that his firing isn't imminent? Just curious.

the phrasing was supposedly .... said "Word on the street" is he'll be fired ... sounds like an outside looking in claim ... hence a motivational tactic .. not hey guys I'm done
