Good call. Was hoping he'd somehow come back to Baltimore.

The fact this decesion came after a win instead of before the game was even played Speaks Volumes to me about the situation. Had they lost, then what? Laughing

They told Rex before the game that he would be back. They just didn't tell the public or any of the players until after the game.

Smart. Now go get some weapons for Geno.

Smart of the Jets to do this. They have a very good coach and it is hard to imagine the Jets doing as good as they did given their talent base. Rex overachieved a lot this year.

Rex has become wiser and quieter and the jets are benefiting. Smart ploy to get the win today.

Good move from the Jets.

I'm not sure what their deal is on the offensive side of the ball, but keeping Rex on as the head man/defensive guy IMO is exactly what they needed to do. Find a good OC/Offensive staff, and they should be in good shape.

Agreed. Ryan has always been associated with a "circus" but recently he seems to have calmed it down and done well as a HC. Not that he was a bad coach before this season but Ryan seemed to be more of a running joke rather than a quality HC. I think it was unfair and due to media attention for other things.

Good move by the Jets.

I'd really like Rex to call and offer Norv a job as OC. That phone call wpuld be legendary.

I think bringing him back was a good decision. When Jeremy Kerley is your biggest offensive weapon, you're going to have trouble winning games. I'm surprised they made it to 8-8.

It was reported that Rex really wanted Norv last season but we got Marty Morninwheg instead. I can't see another offensive coaching change being made. MM will stay on and try again with hopefully more weapons and definitely more experienced players.

You would think they just won the Super Bowl with that reaction. I'm not saying that in a negative way either. These guys love playing for Rex. I hope they work out an extension soon.

If they get a better OC and improve some of their offensive talent, they can be a fringe playoff team.

They are already a fringe playoff team so that makes no sense really. Yes if they improve their weapons they can stay right where they were this year I guess. Marty was a solid OC this year so he'll be back no reason to change that just improve his weapons.

If Geno carries his play from the end of this year over into next season and they get some weapons they can certainly have a good shot to make the playoffs next year.

They have a ton of money and a ton of picks. The Jets are heading in the right direction.

It all depends on Geno, really. If he plays like he has the past few weeks, keeping Rex will look smart. If Geno plays like the 30 turnover guy, then this move will look dumb.

With the picks and cap space the Jets have, they should be able to add a lot of talent to the roster. I'm still not quite expecting a playoff run next year, but this team is trending upward. That's pretty amazing considering how dire things looked in August.

Unless one of the top QBs falls drastically, I think this offseason will be spent mostly surrounding Geno with players who can actually play football well.
