Where do Redskins fans lie on this decision?

Fan of Shanahan? Who do you want to replace him?

Thoughts on Snyder. As an outsider I don't see how you can respect Snyder. Continuous coaching changes, poor/ridiculous FA signings, and plays favorites.

Would love to hear some opinions because from what I understand the Redskins fans on here are generally knowledgeable and respected. (No sarcasm)

I wonder if he goes to Houston. Would be a natural fit.

A natural fit if Houston wants to suck for a few more years. Shanahan is clearly a prick who has no business as a head coach anymore.

I think Shanny has to go,he gets into way too many pissing matches with players. We haven't had the bonehead FA signings since getting rid of Vinny Ceratto (sp?) a few years ago. I think Snyder has learned his lesson with interfering. Hopefully we can get a good offensive mind to help Griffin develop into a better pocket passer.

Had to be done.
Defense is a mess, but they need to develop RG3.

I think he can come back from his injury as a strong runner and he can learn to be more of a pocket passer as well.

Only people who're against it are doing so because they're completely against Snyder and lay the blame solely on him.

I don't know...what do you think?

1 yr, shanny goes 6-10
2nd yr shanny goes 5-11
3rd yr shanny goes 10-6 (after a miracle run starting at 3-6 and after many claimed he gave up in his speech)
4th yr, then goes 3-13 in his final yr.

would you keep him for his final 1 yr left on his 5 yr deal?

Why wait till morning to fire him?
That's my question...

I just don't know how much involvement Snyder had in Shanahan's decisions, how Shanahan worked with the Redskins, etc

Seems like ridding yourselves of Shanahan was a solid move. I wasn't trying to question it or argue with it. Just trying to get info.

Who is a likely replacement or dream replacement?

There has been rumors floating around, but nothing substantial.
Some believe we want Briles
Cowher has been mentioned
Russ Grimm
And some dude from College named Franklin. (I don't watch much college ball)

We'll probably know more tomorrow, after the press conference.

Our top 3 around the beat seemed to be Briles, O'Brien, than Gruden.

Gruden won't come here because Jon's in his ear about the job (and Jon's turned us down multiple times now). O'Brien is desperate to get back into the NFL but it seems the Texan's have a leg up there. If he's not signed soon, I still expect him to be interviewed. Apparently, per JLC, Briles isn't looking to leave Baylor but he'd have a long conversation with Snyder if he came calling and has a plan in place if need be. Washington is about the only place he'd leave the NCAA for though.

Anyone harping Russ Grimm or Danny Smith are just pulling out old names. About the only person from out past I'd expect back is Gregg Williams as a DC again, he and Snyder are still friendly and I'm told Double G loves the Washington area.

For front office, Bruce Allen will move over to handling the Redskins as a Business while will probably promote Morocco Brown to GM and AJ Smith to President of Football Operations (he'd handle the jist if things apparently) but who knows. All that can change very fast.

Snyder basically had zero involvement in the decisions made. As for replacements its really down to three guys of Bill O'Brien, Art Briles, Jay Gruden so far. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it ends up being Briles and he brings a good mix of NFL Assistants on his staff

Thanks for the info. Curious to see who the Redskins hire as HC and how that will gel with RGIII for this development.
