Thanks for the info. Curious to see who the Redskins hire as HC and how that will gel with RGIII for this development.

Have to expect it'll be an offensive HC. There's always the possibility of a Defensive HC, but he would need to bring someone along as an OC that will be instrumental in his development(see Cincy with Lewis/Gruden)

Last thing Houston needs is Shanny.

Chud could work, but I'd decline if I were him.

Jay Gruden would be solid.

No surprise here.

I've been in DC for about a month now, so I've been listening on the radio/reading the local papers about this whole situation and the drama that its caused.. and over the past month or so I don't think I came across a single person that thought retaining Shannahan was the way to go. It seems that literally almost everyone said Shanny was going to be out, the only question was when.

This is sad news. I was hoping Michelle and his daughter stayed in Washington indefinitely. What's he getting paid to leave again?

7 Million. And Kyle got a raise in the OS.

No surprise to see this really. Shanahan really flubbed up that situation. Going to be interesting to see who they hire to replace him and how this new coach handles RG III.

Meh, he knew the writing was on the wall.

He will be paid the remaining years on his contract correct?

Yes he's getting his 7 million. Snyder just ate about 13 million in contracts if he fires all the staff(which is to be expected)

Cant see that happening at all. No way Saban leaves Alabama for the Skins job.

Where do Redskins fans lie on this decision?

Fan of Shanahan? Who do you want to replace him?

Thoughts on Snyder. As an outsider I don't see how you can respect Snyder. Continuous coaching changes, poor/ridiculous FA signings, and plays favorites.

Would love to hear some opinions because from what I understand the Redskins fans on here are generally knowledgeable and respected. (No sarcasm)

Huge fan of this decision. I think Shanahan is probably the most qualified HC candidate out of the bunch, but it's clear that he doesn't mesh well with this team and has no future here.

I think several people are going to want to jump the gun and direct some of the blame at Snyder here but he actually has kept his nose out of everything the past few years and has handled this situation to the best of his abilities.

#1 priority for us is to hire someone who can fully develop Griffin. Our success as a franchise is entirely dependent on his growth.

Personally, I don't want a coach like Cowher or Gruden who already had their success somewhere else. I want a hungry young-gun who will mature with Griffin and hopefully transform this franchise to what it once was. Tomlin or Caroll come to mind here.
