They have a nice foundation on defense for Zim to mold. Could be a fit if he bolts.

God knows that team needs discipline.

Yeah, this seems like the logical fit for Zimmer, IMO.

Was just coming in here to say Zimmer would be an excellent fit for this job. A tough, no nonsense football junkie. Someone hire this man already.

Good move.

I don't think this is a good job like most people do. Really bad cap situation. I think Stafford is terrible but the organization seems committed to him so you're probably stuck with a bad QB taking up a large chunk of the cap.

They should just get the best coach. I think it's a mistake to use the head coach hire to try to fix one side of the ball.

The greatest moment of Jim Schwartz Lions career, no wonder there was no discipline:

I hate the "discipline" argument. People seem to base discipline or lack thereof entirely on how successful a team is. The Seahawks have arguably been less disciplined than the Lions this year, no one is criticizing Pete for it.

Depends on what you are looking for. Breaking down defenses I would take Sanchez no doubt.

I was about to thank you for breaking the story with a bunch of Jennifer Lawrence gifs, but then you had to go post that.

This move was obvious and I'm happy for Lions fans... Schwartz is a defensive minded coach and most of the success the Lions had the past 3 seasons [excluding last season] came because of their offense who was ranked top 5, so he really wasted it. Time to bring a new guy who can fix the defense.

Well he is a terrible defensive mind as seen by his years as the Titans' DC
