After 9 years in this whirlwind business they call the NFL, I am proud to announce that I am hanging up my cleats. I've had an amazing run and I appreciate all of the support from the fans through the good and the bad. The New York Giants are a great organization and I am proud to have been a part of it for so long. I love my coaches and my teammates and will miss them as well as the game itself but I am healing well from my surgery and I look forward to running around with my kids for years to come!

Best of luck in retirement, Brandon.

Was truly a beast of a runner from 2007-2008. After that point for some reason he seemed to want to try to dance around people instead of what he was really good at given his size, which is pummeling through people. Classic example of looking like Tarzan, while running like Jane.

Well at least he came back to retire as a Giant. He was just never the same after he got hurt. Best of luck Brandon. Thanks for all the memories and efforts in your time here.

There was a time I dreamed of a backfield full of Chris Johnson spelled by Brandon Jacobs.

He was one of those guys who you'd hate to try to tackle once he got running downhill. Short career but was impactful for a few.

He was a great piece to a RB group. One of those guys you always want on your team but you hate to play against. I wish him the best of luck in retirement.

I don't recall these egregious incidents that made Jacobs a "horrible human being". Are we talking about the trash talking and showboating on the field he was known for? If so then I would say he is no more a "horrible human being" then Dez or TO in that regard. Are you guys still sour from him slamming the ball into the play clock at the new stadium? Or because he told Giselle to "Stay cute and shut up"?

I don't recall any DUI's, arrests, or issues with the police other then the New Jersey State Police escort scandal.

So exactly who is the "real" Brandon Jacobs Cowboy fans know about that the rest of us seem less privy too...?

that makes zero sense....how would cowboy fans more aware of his horrible human beingness.

Best wishes to him in retirement. Guy was a decent running back in his career.

Because they know "horrible" very well.....they've been seeing it for about 20 years now with their own team.
