Yeah, I know the Browns fired Chudzinski so there is a precedent, but it would be unfortunate to see the Dolphins essentially start over from scratch by firing Philbin.

Wait, what? How is Chudzinski's firing relate to the firing of Sherman and Ireland, at all?

So who should Miami go after now? Any names we should look out for?

No surprise to see this. Going to be interesting to see who Miami gets to replace Ireland. That position should be a very coveted 1.

I think you're right. I think the new GM will have to agree to not fire Philbin right now. Kind of like the Jets last year keeping Ryan around. IIRC Ross was Impressed with Philbin's handling of the bullying situation.

It's going to be the classic, new GM doesn't do whatever says he's going to do and fire the HC. Then a year later he fires the HC...

Depends on the kind of year Philbin has next year, no doubt.

What I'm hearing is that they offered to keep him but hire someone else to be the final word on personnel, and Ireland was like "nah, son, I'm out."

This is like the Mike Munchak firing.

Titans: You can stay but we're firing all your staff.
Munchak: Ah...why don't I just leave to.
Titans: Let me get the door for you...

They were slow rolling by firing Sherman first.

Well, if you're looking for a guy who wants absolute personnel control. I hear AJ Smith is available... Twisted Evil Laughing

He was the favorite for every GM job last year. I think you can find multiple threads from last year saying Report: (Insert Team) to hire Tom Gamble as GM. I know there was definitely one for the Jets.

The guy must be the worst interview ever.

He was a finalist with the Falcons way back in 2008, I guess he's just been interviewing since then.

I wouldn't be shocked if they interview Lionel Vital. The two previous guys with his job both are GMs and are going pretty well (Dave Caldwell, Les Snead) .

Tom Gamble is suppose to be the favorite for the year.

I think the smart choice would be keeping Philbin. Give him 1 more year if they dont make the playoffs. Clean house
