Bridgewater at 4 would be better. We need a QB and I know you gave us Carr at 26 but he has a similar trait that Weeden has and gets a little happy in the pocket when the pressure shows up. We could get Bridgewater at 4 and best WR at 26 or best OG.

Raiders will not pass on bridgewater at 5. Even if he wasn't there, the raiders would take barr or mack because of the need at pass rush. When healthy, Menelik Watson and Jared Veldheer are excellent OT's. There is also no way that Veldheer leaves Oakland, as he understandably wants to get a deal done, but he wants to be a "raider for life" no matter what. I see no need for matthews whatsoever at 5. Otherwise, I like this draft and I like that you put down needs and draft tendencies.

Yeah, listing LT as a primary need is absurd. Matthews is a good player, but he's in no way, shape or form a better, or smarter, pick than Bridgewater.

If Teddy is on the board at 5, Oakland will sprint to the podium.

Would much rather have Mack over Barr unless we switched to a straight up 3-4 told Barr he would only rush the passer every play and gaurantee me that he would learn a pass rush move other then the speed rush

Wonderful presentation. I really like Shazier but there are other needs. And because you wanted to put him in the first is not a viable reason haha. But I wouldn't be mad. Could win defensive rookie of the year in the middle of Von and Trevathan

Love Gilbert but Miami drafted two CB's last year and may want to give them a chance first.

Very nice job in your presentation.

I would prefer the corners Dennard or Gilbert over Clinton-Dix but safety is a need at some point.

29. New England Patriots -- Austin Seferian-Jenkins [TE; Washington]
GM Draft Tendencies -- One never knows with BB
Team Needs -- TE, G/C, DT
Notes:
TE is an obvious need first round need area and wit ASJ and Amaro available BB will likely pull the trigger on the higher of the two rated players. Conventional wisdown says Amaro here which is why I went the other direction. DT, Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly are coming off season ending injuries and Aaron Donald is still available. My issue with Donald is at 6ft his arms must be very long or he's a 2nd round pick. Until that measurement I'm passing on him. Plus BB likes two-gap DT's and Donald is more of a penetrator. CB, Aqib Talib is a must resign otherwise a #1 CB becomes a priority. I don't see WR being a need as they have young talent that needs to grow there in Dobson & Thompkins. Interior OL depth should be addressed in the mid-rounds.

A few thoughts here:

(1) I'm OK with ASJ.
(2) I don't think Belichick drafts players just to spite draft analysts. If he thinks Amaro provides more value, he'll draft Amaro.
(3) BB's draft philosophy is "Who will help the team most over the next 4-5 years?" In 2011, that was Nate Solder, even with Light sticking around. In 2013, that was dropping down and getting a 2, 3, 4, and 7.
