If you fixed that, this would be a nice draft. | Quite same comment except i'd pass on RB, Jennings will be back i presume and with Reece, Murray and Sheets the team is set at the position, i'd prefer to add a guard (Halopio is available in your 4th) or a corner like Gaines or Desir or better to me, pass on Jernigan (who would be a nice pick) and take Yankey round 2 then go DT later (J.Ellis or C.Reid in the 4th). I like Smith from Louisville but if Manziel is the 1st round pick, the OLine have to be next. |

The players picked for the 49ers are not bad, however I will not be happy with a trade out of the first round into the second. With the year that you are losing on the contract for a second round pick compared to a first rounder, you better be robbing a team blind in terms of value to make that drop. Especially when it's only like 6 spots. You'd much rather stay in the first round and get the extra year on the rookie contract. _________________

What you says kind of makes sense for the 49ers who figure to be running tight on cash in the not so distant future and therefore would in fact get one more year to work with a player on a rookie contract. However, at the end of the day, if that extra year was perceived around the league as being SO valuable, trades out of the first round would practically never happen. In the 2 years under the new CBA, 2 trades out of the first round have happened, and neither one netted 'a killing' as a return. |
