Barron would be a horrible pick for the Browns, he is a great pass blocker, but is a horrible run blocker, Crennel wants a run first pass when necessary offense, thus barron is a bad pick for us. he lacks the mean streak you want in a large run blocking LT as well. He is rated so high because of his ability to pass protect, however, he is a not as good of a run blocker as Munoz/Terry or Barnes.

Even if we draft Alex Barron, there is no way he will be the starting LT.
Blindside protection is not something that is entrusted to rookies.
Robert Gallery, the best LT prospect in the last 5 years, moved inside for his rookie year. Alex Barron is no Robert Gallery.
I read somewhere that there aren't any willing trade partners for anyone in the top 10. I don't think Barron is worth the #3 with all the great LTs coming out next year, and some good run blockers like Jon Dunn and Wes Sims available day 2. |

| True there arent any trade partners at this moment but I'll bet as the draft aproaches there will be also i still think Barron will be starting LT for someone this year he is already a dominant pass blocker so protecting the backside will not be an issue. He needs work on his run blocking but with his talent and athleticism for such a big guy I believe he will get much better in the run game. One more thing I said I wouldnt take him at 3 I would only take him at 12 or below....Im not very high on DJ for the 3-4 defense I would rather have Merryman but with him I also wouldnt take him with the 3rd pick probably not b-4 10th so i hope trading down becomes an option later on when teams fall in love with certain players. |

Khalif Barnes if available in the 2nd.
If not, then go with a CB, LB or Frye. In that order. _________________ The Brownie: The best logo for the Cleveland Browns, EVER! |

At C, it's got to be Faine over Fowler. I don't see us grabing a LT, but we are still courting Cosey Coleman, so it looks like they want to pick up another guard. If we do have 2 solid guards (Andruzzi definitely fits the bill), I think Verba can do the job at LT for another year. that would make it:
LT Verba
LG Andruzzi
C Faine
RG Coleman??
RT Tucker
- certainly an upgrade over DeMar, Fowler, Beasly, Gonzales...what a nightmare last season was! _________________

There were rumors that we would get Cosey last year, but he re-signed. If he signs with us this year, that would be a major upgrade at the guard spot. Andruzzi and Coleman. That's not an upgrade, that's an Extreme Makeover. Someone call ABC.
Verba is not the answer long term, but next year's draft is the better place to address the LT spot.
Now just grab a road grater or two in the late rounds to give those guys a breather and finish teams off in the fourth quarter.
Presto! You've got yourself a competitive offensive line. Maybe not a championship line yet, but at least it wouldn't be a liability anymore. |

| Pure and simple the browns have to start addressing the line through the draft(first day)we can sign all the free agants in the world but as the past 5 years should have taught us all you have to get some lineman in the draft.I Love the pick-up of Andruzzi and would love another lineman in FA but what i really think we need to do is get a good young tackle who can replace Verba moving him back to guard then we can maybe draft a young guy later that needs some grooming preferably a guard. |

They would still contend to be the starting tackle... I would rather get a rookie some experience missing blocks than have a veteran doing the same thing _________________
