If not that, I'd take either Easley or Joyner. I don't think there's a shot in hell Easley makes it to our 2nd.

Again i like Easley, but i personally can't get on board using that high of a pick on a guy whose torn his ACL in both knees on non contact injuries and is coming in with 2 reconstructed knees. I know ACL injuries aren't what they used to be, but that's a pretty big boom or bust pick, IMO.

I do like Joyner though and he'll likely be the pick if a trade doesn't fall through.

I like the trade down with the Lions. Joyner is a solid pick. I'd probably prefer Verrett to Joyner

Watch how freakishly smooth Verrett is. And he's so technically sound to boot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLtqzhyIPFA

He's a guy that can be just as good in the slot as Joyner put good be a number 2 at the NFL level. Joyner seems like a nickel/safety for life. It's not that I don't like Joyner a whole lot, it's that his skillset overlaps with our best player, Earl Thomas. Joyner will never be good enough to make us want to take Earl out of those deep 3rd looks consistently, so we waste half of Joyner's skillset here.

Verrett doesn't have prototypical Pete Carroll size, but we get too caught up in that. Thurmond was identical in size to Verrett and Carroll originally planned on having him outside more. We're either going to have to pay Lane or Maxwell to stay, I doubt we'll pay both. Verrett can fill either of their roles, Joyner can only fill one

I agree that Verrett will be the better corner, but I prefer Joyner due to his positional versatility. Joyner could act as a hell of a 3rd safety and let us do a lot more with Kam in the box and Earl blitzing. I think he'll be better than Verrett in zone coverage because he has the better instincts and plays like a pit bull.

Won't be enough to part with this pick, not worth the risk of missing out on one of our guys.

If you added a 2015 pick it might be entertained.

I actually don't mind the move. They have the 3rd pick in the 5th round, so it is at the very top of that round. They have made some other trades and don't have a lot left. I counter him with throwing in a swap of 6th round picks, which would put the trade value within 24.

The crappy part is that a few people in the Ravens forum have gotten on board with the trade up from #48, but their GM isn't online to complete the deal.

With a swap of 6ths would you be on board with Tampa, i sent him that as a counter, but have yet to hear anything back and we pick in 20 minutes.

So is it out of the question with Baltimore? I still like that offer. What about Detroit?

If none of those are available I'd be fine with the trade down w/ Tampa.

The Ravens GM is really the only one running the show, but he wanted input from others in the forum and couldn't get any last night. This morning i saw that 2 posters were on board with the trade and the GM really wanted it to happen, but unless he gets online in the next 10 minutes it won't be going through.

The Lions never got back to me, so thats not on option.

I also just noticed that the Raiders offered #33 for #38+#143 to Tampa, so they could end up taking that trade. If i don't hear back in about 5-8 minutes i'm making the pick and it will be Joyner.

I know I've been the one banging the drum for a different position, but at the end of the day I think we need to choose between XSF and Bitonio here.

Lol, k. I have XSF rated highest and is who i would have picked had we not tried to go a different direction. He'll be the pick. Even though it is the same as last time, i think it is the best move. Good thing i just read this, lol. I had Joyner typed up and everything. I'm making the pick now.

With the 32nd Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks select:

Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG, UCLA*- There was a lot of back and forth going on with which prospect to select at #32. With a few trades falling through and less than 5 minutes on the clock, Su'a-Filo became the choice as he was the best player available at a position of need. Su'a-Filo is a perfect fit in Seattle's zone blocking scheme and should be a quality starter from day 1.
