I am pretty sure that OLB has been the consensus 1st round need position for the Saints since the early 90s. And yet it never happens. _________________ Adopt-a-Saint (2015)

Jets wont need to draft a 1st round ILB next year. Even if we lose Harris we still have adequate depth.
We just drafted Jeremiah Goerge and have good depth there. next year I'd expect us to go O-line (D'Brick and Mangold are getting old) or WR (we still don't necessarily have a #2 WR)
Also, DE/OLB is a much bigger area of need (Pace will prob retire and we have very little behind him), meanwhile, Harris could prob be resigned for pretty cheap.
on that basis.... terrible Jets 1st round pick at this point and subpar analysis considering the other positions the Jets will need to draft then.
p.s. we drafted bart scotts replacement in the 3rd round, so expect the Jets to replace Harris in a similar way _________________

Well since the draft order isn't the same as last year, obviously it's a factor... _________________ McCoy is the new Sapp |

It's 360 days until the draft - it doesn't matter the draft order in the preseason, we only discuss the prospect picked. _________________

Yup, just to echo this, discussing records generally ends up getting people warnings because people get mad as to where their team is drafting, plus, at this point in time, we have no idea, look at the Colts when Manning was out and they ended up getting Luck, we wouldn't have guessed they would have sucked that much, but they did. That's the wonder of the NFL, we have no real clue how good or poor teams are going to be because of injuries. _________________

Our line already got alot better with the return of Kelechi Osemele. Even if our line did get exposed, it's pretty hard to imagine that we would draft a LT, when we already have a top 10 LT. |

it's way to early and we don't know who will show up this year, but as I see it, these are our needs in no order:
OL - Our cornerstones, LT and C, are getting up there in age, but I don't think we address this in 2015.
LB - D. Harris is in the last year of his deal and we're still playing C. Pace a lot. Youth is needed.
DB - If A. Allen or McDougle show up, great. If not, we may need to go back to the well.
WR - We can always use another pass-catcher.
QB - The big one no NYJ fan really wants to hear, but if G. Smith doesn't show improvement, it may be time.
With that being said, Idzik stays true to his board, period.
I think we're set on DL and RB, but he showed with the S. Richardson pick that he'll take the BPA regardless of POS.
However, I don't believe he'll value ILB enough to take one in the first unless it's a generational talent. _________________ J.e.t.s. |
